In this paper the fundamentals of thermoeconomics for systems operated at variable load are discussed examining the cost formation process and separately the cost fractions related to capital depreciation (which require additional distinctions with respect to plants in steady operation) and to exergy consumption. The relevant effects of the efficiency penalty due to off design operation on the exergetic cost of internal flows are also examined. An original algorithm is proposed for the integrated optimization of plant design and operation based on an analytical solution by the Lagrange multipliers method and on a multi-objective decision function expressed either in terms of net cash flow or primary energy saving. The method is suitable for application in complex energy systems such as ‘‘facilities of components of a same product’’ connected to external networks for power or heat distribution. On the hidden side of liquidity

This paper deals with the informativeness of iceberg orders, also known as hidden limit orders (HLOs). Namely, we analyze how the market reacts when the presence of hidden volume in the limit order book is revealed by the trading process. We use high frequency book and transaction data from the Spanish Stock Exchange, including a large sample of executed HLOs. We show that just when hidden volume is detected, traders on the opposite side of the market become more aggressive, exploiting the opportunity to consume more than expected at the best quotes. Fra i cambiamenti più rilevanti in atto nel mondo del lavoro vi è certamente quello riguardante la diversa accezione che ha assunto l’identità professionale. In presenza di una accentuata volubilità e di una difficile definzione dell’identità professionale – spesso divisa fra molte occupazioni svolte in luoghi e in momenti della propria vita e della giornata diversi – il bisogno di ricomposizione che caratterizza la frammentata società contemporanea e che si declina nei diversi ambiti istituzionali sembra assumere nel lavoro connotazioni assolutamente specifiche che meritano particolare attenzione. Il volume risultato dell’approfondimento di una ricerca condotta in Italia nel 2004 da dieci sedi universitarie e riguardante i percorsi di ricomposizione sociale degli adulti-giovani intende offrire un’analisi dei cambiamenti determinati dal differente modo in cui si declina per questa fascia di età la dimensione lavorativa. Il lavoro ci si è chiesti può essere considerato un ambito di ricomposizione nella frammentata vita degli adulti giovani? Attraverso l’analisi quali-quantitativa di diverso materiale empirico si è inteso scandagliare nel rapporto esistente fra lavoro progetto biografico e formazione dell’identità professionale in un periodo in cui la difficile “transizione alla vita adulta” assume sempre più i caratteri della dilazione continuata e in cui “ricomporre la vita” diventa anche per gli adulti giovani sempre più difficile.

Development of a Taekwondo Combat Model Based on Markov Analysis

The purpose of the present study was to examine male and female Olympic taekwondo competitors' movement patterns according to their tactical actions by applying a Markov processes analysis. To perform this study, 11,474 actions by male competitors and 12,980 actions by female competitors were compiled and analyzed. The results yielded 32 significant sequences among male competitors and 30 among female competitors. Male competitors demonstrated 11 sequences initiated by an attack, 11 initiated by a counterattack, and 10 initiated by a defensive action. The in vivo dissolution of enteric-coated (EC) products is often overestimated by compendial in vitro dissolution experiments. It is of great interest to mimic the in vivo conditions as closely as possible in vitro in order to predict the in vivo behavior of EC dosage forms. The reason behind this is the overly high buffering capacity of the common compendial buffers compared to the intestinal bicarbonate buffer.
