The exploitation of power lines currently in operation has now become a common practice among electric system operators. The construction of new power lines requires taking economic, political and social problems into consideration. This paper considers two methodologies adopted by the Italian Transmission System Operator (TSO), Terna S.p.A.: Dynamic Thermal Rating (DTR) and Laser Imaging Detection and Ranging-Geographic Information System (L-GIS). Long-lived contrails and convective cirrus above the tropical tropopause

Abstract. This study has two objectives: (1) it characterizes contrails at very low temperatures and (2) it discusses convective cirrus in which the contrails occurred. (1) Long-lived contrails and cirrus from overshooting convection are investigated above the tropical tropopause at low temperatures down to −88 °C from measurements with the Russian high-altitude research aircraft M-55 Geophysica, as well as related observations during the SCOUT-O3 field experiment near Darwin, Australia, in 2005. Abstract Between 1 September and 4 October 2014, a combined airborne and ground-based measurement campaign was conducted to study tropical deep convective clouds over the Brazilian Amazon rain forest. The new German research aircraft, High Altitude and Long Range Research Aircraft (HALO), a modified Gulfstream G550, and extensive ground-based instrumentation were deployed in and near Manaus (State of Amazonas). Intergenerational support as a reaction to socio-economic crisis: alteration of solidarity within precarious Romanian households

ABSTRACTThis paper addresses the tensions arising from the intersection of norms and practices of support in situations in which intergenerational support is the main household strategy for coping with precariousness in Romania. This paper describes competing meanings of solidarity and reveals gendered experiences of ambiguity with respect to the sustainability of help exchanges within the context of economic vulnerability. Romania displays high public acceptance of intergenerational support, while the country’s deficient social welfare system prompts families to intensify their help exchanges. Covid-19 and Social Structure: Three Key Words for Future Orientation

The paper deals on three keywords to orientation in the future by focusing on three crucial concepts: 1. The sharing economy, regarding the transformation emerging in contemporary economic scenarios; 2. The creative imagination, concerning the changes that are taking place in technological developments and linked not only to production systems but also to the consumption of goods and services; 3. The solidarity, in relation to the global changes all over the world. We will see that such three keywords, which recall specific areas of social and economic fields, are strongly interconnected to each other, especially when we look at the effects of the pandemic on the future of society.
