A note on the rational canonical form of an endomorphism of a vector space of finite dimension

[EN] In this note, we give an easy algorithm to construct the rational canonical form of a square matrix or an endomorphism h of a finite dimensional vector space which does not depend on either the structure theorem for finitely generated modules over principal ideal domains or matrices over the polynomial ring. The algorithm is based on the construction of an element whose minimum polynomial coincides with the minimum polynomial of the endomorphism and on the fact that the h-invariant subspace generated by such an element admits an h-invariant complement. In this article, we – the Bacterial Viruses Subcommittee and the Archaeal Viruses Subcommittee of the International Committee on Taxonomy of Viruses (ICTV) – summarise the results of our activities for the period March 2020 – March 2021. We report the division of the former Bacterial and Archaeal Viruses Subcommittee in two separate Subcommittees, welcome new members, a new Subcommittee Chair and Vice Chair, and give an overview of the new taxa that were proposed in 2020, approved by the Executive Committee and ratified by vote in 2021. Blue Optical Observations of Narrow Bipolar Events by ASIM Suggest Corona Streamer Activity in Thunderstorms

While narrow bipolar events (NBEs) could be related with lightning initiation, their intrinsic physics remains in question. Here we report on optical measurements by the Atmosphere-Space Interactions Monitor (ASIM) on the International Space Station (ISS) of blue flashes associated with NBEs. They are observed in a narrow blue band centered at 337 nm, with no simultaneous activity at 777.4 nm, considered a strong lightning emission line. From radio waves measured from the ground, we find that 7 of 10 single-pulse blue events can be identified as positive NBEs. Este artículo muestra las opiniones de los inspectores educativos respecto a las prácticas de evaluación de los profesores de Geografía e Historia de Educación Secundaria Obligatoria (ESO) en la Región de Murcia, concretamente lo relativo a instrumentos y fases de evaluación, las concepciones sobre la calificación y la evaluación por competencias básicas. Los datos han sido extraídos mediante cuestionarios. Los resultados indican que las prácticas de evaluación de los profesores de Geografía e Historia no han variado en el tiempo a pesar de la introducción de novedades legislativas. Se estudia la producción española de documentación e información médicas, en sus distintas áreas de especialización, hasta el año 1991. Se analiza el crecimiento de la producción de los diferentes tipos de documentos sobre la disciplina, así como las materias, instituciones de procedencia y distribución geográfica . Los resultados muestran la gran dispersión de los trabajos sobre el tema y el predominio de los estudios dedicados a la documentación clínica, producidos en instituciones hospitalarias.

[EN]: This study analyzes the development of Spanish-Brazilian collaborative scientific production in the field of medical research between 2002 and 2011, identifying the most productive institutions, the proportion of researchers from each country and bi-lateral collaborative networks. Data were gathered from the Scopus database, which offers broad, international coverage of multidisciplinary research. A study sample of 1,121 original scientific articles signed by 13,906 researchers were retrieved, on the basis of which the annual growth rate of Spanish-Brazilian medical research was calculated. We conducted a review to analyze the 100 most-cited studies on binge drinking (BD) in the Web of Science (WoS) database to determine their current status and the aspects that require further attention. We carried out a retrospective bibliometric analysis in January 2021. The year of publication, authors, design, subject, journal, institution and lead author’s country, as well as the definition of BD, were extracted from the articles.
