Social determinants of identity in communities: A social capital- and social categorization-based approach – findings from Latvia

The article investigates the relations, in the light of new paradigms of economic development, between trust and economic wealth at the micro level in the Republic of Latvia, by means of a structural equation modelling-based approach and a framework combining social capital and social identity theory, in a rationale of cross-fertilization between social and cognitive science. International audience; This article intends to define sensorial discourses, to discuss the way they should be analyzed by stressing the importance of corpora. Putting these thoughts into the context of the digital revolution, it will show how corpora should evolve in the digital humanities. The association of digital and sensorial discourses needs to be clarified and this article proposes a way to find new approaches to better analyze them.

Ever-growing digital services determine libraries to update almost all of their activities. Traditional library services must be transformed into electronic libraries, and library specialists must always be prepared for advanced digital services to come. Thus, libraries in the digital era must offer digital deposit services, digitisation services, research data management, metadata creation, digital cataloguing and conserving, and counselling in what regards digital copyrights, informational alphabetising. In this article, the emphasis falls on the necessity of developing and transforming libraries, bringing awareness to their role and their importance for society and at an individual level.
