Isolation, sequence analysis and characterization of cDNA clones coding for the C chain of mouse C1q. Sequence similarity of complement subcomponent …

1992

A mouse macrophage lambda gt11 cDNA library was screened using a genomic DNA clone coding for the C-chain gene of human C1q. Approximately 600,000 recombinant phage plaques were hybridized with peroxidase-labeled human C-chain probe and detected by enhanced chemiluminescence. Five positive clones were obtained. The size of the full-length cDNA is 1019 bp. The sequence identity of the nucleotide sequence with human C1q C chain is 79%, the identity of the deduced amino acid sequences is 73%. The mouse C1q C chain exhibits the same structural features as the human C chain, e.g. conservation of the cysteine residues. Like the mouse A chain, the mouse C chain has an RGD sequence that may be reco…

The Histidinol Phosphate Phosphatase Involved in Histidine Biosynthetic Pathway Is Encoded by SCO5208 (hisN) in Streptomyces coelicolor A3(2)

2008

Through the screening of a Streptomyces coelicolor genomic library, carried out in a histidinol phosphate phosphatase (HolPase) deficient strain, SCO5208 was identified as the last unknown gene involved in histidine biosynthesis. SCO5208 is a phosphatase, and it can restore the growth in minimal medium in this HolPase deficient strain when cloned in a high or low copy number vector. Moreover, it shares sequence homology with other HolPases recently identified in Actinobacteria. During this work a second phosphatase, SCO2771, sharing no homologies with SCO5208 and all so far described phosphatases was identified. It can complement HolPase activity mutation only at high copy number. Sequence …

Approximation Properties of the Modified Stancu Operators

2017

ABSTRACTIn this article we construct a sequence of Stancu-type operators that are based on a function τ. This function is any function on [0,1] continuously differentiable ∞ times, such that τ(0) =...

The expansion $\star$ mod $\bar{o}(\hbar^4)$ and computer-assisted proof schemes in the Kontsevich deformation quantization

2019

The Kontsevich deformation quantization combines Poisson dynamics, noncommutative geometry, number theory, and calculus of oriented graphs. To manage the algebra and differential calculus of series of weighted graphs, we present software modules: these allow generating the Kontsevich graphs, expanding the noncommutative & x22c6;-product by using a priori undetermined coefficients, and deriving linear relations between the weights of graphs. Throughout this text we illustrate the assembly of the Kontsevich & x22c6;-product up to order 4 in the deformation parameter Already at this stage, the & x22c6;-product involves hundreds of graphs; expressing all their coefficients via 149 w…

Editorial issue 2

2018

It has been a very long trip since I wrote my last editorial. The first issue of the Journal received a strong welcome from all over the world in the beginning of 2016, but there was something missing that drove us to a winding road that ended in an even stronger situation: the support of the University of Valencia’s Publication Service (UVPS). The missing thing in the first issue was the DOI (Digital Object Identifier). All the online journals have a DOI to identify the papers and allow a permanent link to them. Each DOI is unique for each paper. We look for a DOI provider in our environment and found the UVPS to offer DOIs for free to their teachers. As I am one of them, I went to ask for…

Process reference frameworks as institutional arrangements for digital service innovation

2020

Abstract Information systems (IS) service organizations are increasingly more concerned with their ability to co-create digital services with customers in service ecosystems. Practitioners and researchers, however, lack understanding of which organization mechanisms effectively contribute to IS organizations’ innovation practices. Grounded in service-dominant logic, we hypothesized that process reference frameworks (PRFs), such as the IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL), act as institutional arrangements through their norms, rules, and practices, enhancing IS organizations’ ability to innovate digital services. Data collected from 159 IS organizations confirmed our hypotheses, showing that eff…

<i>Impactrimonio</i>: tecnologías de la información aplicadas a la valoración del impacto económico de la cultura

2013

This paper proposes an informational service, Impactrimonio , to assess the economic impact of a particular museum, library, festival or heritage element on the economic development of a particular territory. This service takes on increasing importance in the context of the new development paradigm linked to the Cultural Economy. From the information contained in the input-output tables and the data supplied by the user on various questionnaires, Impactrimonio  estimates the direct, indirect and induced effects necessary to quantify the economic impact of the cultural activity.

How does information technology– based service degradation influence consumers’ use of services? An information technology–based service degradation …

2019

Information technology is crucial for modern services. Service delivery may include a complex mix of information technology and telecommunication providers, global networks and customers’ information technology devices. This research focuses on service failures that are caused by information technology problems, which we conceptualize as information technology-based service degradation (ITSD). When information technology-based service degradation occurs in a modern service, the information technology problem may originate from the service provider, another partner or any information technology equipment involved. But the customer may not be able to pinpoint the source of the problem immedi…

A combined fuzzy-SEM evaluation approach to identify the key drivers of the academic library service quality in the digital technology era: An empiri…

2017

A conceptual model of the Academic Library (AL) service quality is hypothesized in the present article, and then validated and analyzed by a novel evaluation approach. Specifically, the conceptual model integrates the fundamental attributes of the canonical AL service together with those more relevant of the new and widely considered AL Electronic Service (e-services). As concerns the evaluation approach, it incorporates the Fuzzy Sets Theory (FST) so as to deal with the students' uncertainty over their own judgments on the AL service quality and a Structural Equation Model (SEM) to validate the conceptual model and to determine the key drivers of the AL service quality. The effectiveness o…
