Centri storici meridionali: verso quale futuro?

2020

The contribution sta…

Rethinking physical and rehabilitation medicine: new technologies induce new learning strategies

2010

International audience; Reeducation consists in training people injured by either illness or the vagaries of life to achieve the best fundionality now possible for them. Strangely, the subject is not taught in the normal educational curricula of the relevant professions. Reeducation thus tends to be developed anew with each patient, without recourse to knowledge of what such training, or assistance in such training, might be. However, new paradigms of reeducation are in fact possible today, thanks to advances in cognitive science and the development of new technologies such as virtual reality and robotics. In turn, they lead to the rethinking of the procedures of physical medicine, as well …

Cessione del credito e modificazione del lato attivo dell'obbligazione

2012

Production of Λ and KS0 in jets in p–Pb collisions at √sNN = 5.02 TeV and pp collisions at √s = 7 TeV

2022

The production of Λ baryons and KS0 mesons (V0 particles) was measured in p–Pb collisions at √sNN=5.02 TeV and pp collisions at √s=7 TeV with ALICE at the LHC. The production of these strange particles is studied separately for particles associated with hard scatterings and the underlying event to shed light on the baryon-to-meson ratio enhancement observed at intermediate transverse momentum (pT) in high multiplicity pp and p–Pb collisions. Hard scatterings are selected on an event-by-event basis with jets reconstructed with the anti-kT algorithm using charged particles. The production of strange particles associated with jets pT,jetch>10 and pT,jetch>20 GeV/c in p–Pb collisions, and with …

Applications of the Conceptual Density Functional Theory Indices to Organic Chemistry Reactivity.

2016

Indexación: Web of Science Theoretical reactivity indices based on the conceptual Density Functional Theory (DFT) have become a powerful tool for the semiquantitative study of organic reactivity. A large number of reactivity indices have been proposed in the literature. Herein, global quantities like the electronic chemical potential μ, the electrophilicity ω and the nucleophilicity N indices, and local condensed indices like the electrophilic and nucleophilic Parr functions, as the most relevant indices for the study of organic reactivity, are discussed. http://www.mdpi.com/1420-3049/21/6/748

Covalent and non-covalent chemistry of 2D black phosphorus

2021

The post-graphene era is undoubtedly marked by two-dimensional (2D) sheet polymers, such as black phosphorus (BP). This emerging material has a fascinating structure and outstanding electronic properties and has been postulated for a plethora of applications. The need to circumvent the pronounced oxophilicity of P atoms has dominated the research on this material in recent years, with the objective of finding the most effective method to improve its environmental stability. When it comes to chemical functionalization, the few approaches reported so far involve some drawbacks such as low degree of addition and low production ability. This review presents the concepts and strategies of our st…

Calculations on solvents and co-solvents of single-wall carbon nanotubes:cyclopyranoses

2005

The (10, 10) single-wall carbon nanotube (SWNT) presents consistency between relatively small solubility, and large partition coefficients and kinetic stability. The solubility of SWNTs is investigated in a variety of solvents, finding a class of non-hydrogen-bonding Lewis bases that provides good solubility. The organic solvent–water partition and hydrophobic moment of lysozyme show that the main contribution to the water-accessible surface area of helices is the hydrophobic term, while the hydrophilic part dominates in the sheet, which is related to the 1-octanol–, cyclohexane– and chloroform–water partition coefficients Po−ch−cf of helices, which are greater than those of the sheet. The …

An exon junction complex‐independent function of Barentsz in neuromuscular synapse growth

2021

The exon junction complex controls the translation, degradation, and localization of spliced mRNAs, and three of its core subunits also play a role in splicing. Here, we show that a fourth subunit, Barentsz, has distinct functions within and separate from the exon junction complex in Drosophila neuromuscular development. The distribution of mitochondria in larval muscles requires Barentsz as well as other exon junction complex subunits and is not rescued by a Barentsz transgene in which residues required for binding to the core subunit eIF4AIII are mutated. In contrast, interactions with the exon junction complex are not required for Barentsz to promote the growth of neuromuscular synapses.…
