Holomorphic mappings of bounded type

1992

Abstract For a Banach space E, we prove that the Frechet space H b(E) is the strong dual of an (LB)-space, B b(E), which leads to a linearization of the holomorphic mappings of bounded type. It is also shown that the holomorphic functions defined on (DFC)-spaces are of uniformly bounded type.

Stabilization of heterodimensional cycles

2011

We consider diffeomorphisms $f$ with heteroclinic cycles associated to saddles $P$ and $Q$ of different indices. We say that a cycle of this type can be stabilized if there are diffeomorphisms close to $f$ with a robust cycle associated to hyperbolic sets containing the continuations of $P$ and $Q$. We focus on the case where the indices of these two saddles differ by one. We prove that, excluding one particular case (so-called twisted cycles that additionally satisfy some geometrical restrictions), all such cycles can be stabilized.

On the existence of attractors

2009

On every compact 3-manifold, we build a non-empty open set $\cU$ of $\Diff^1(M)$ such that, for every $r\geq 1$, every $C^r$-generic diffeomorphism $f\in\cU\cap \Diff^r(M)$ has no topological attractors. On higher dimensional manifolds, one may require that $f$ has neither topological attractors nor topological repellers. Our examples have finitely many quasi attractors. For flows, we may require that these quasi attractors contain singular points. Finally we discuss alternative definitions of attractors which may be better adapted to generic dynamics.

Linearization of complex hyperbolic Dulac germs

2021

We prove that a hyperbolic Dulac germ with complex coefficients in its expansion is linearizable on a standard quadratic domain and that the linearizing coordinate is again a complex Dulac germ. The proof uses results about normal forms of hyperbolic transseries from another work of the authors.

Cohomology and Deformation of Leibniz Pairs

1995

Cohomology and deformation theories are developed for Poisson algebras starting with the more general concept of a Leibniz pair, namely of an associative algebra $A$ together with a Lie algebra $L$ mapped into the derivations of $A$. A bicomplex (with both Hochschild and Chevalley-Eilenberg cohomologies) is essential.

Stability of switched systems: The single input case

2001

We study the stability of the origin for the dynamical system x(t) = u(t)Ax(t) + (1 − u(t))Bx(t), where A and B are two 2×2 real matrices with eigenvalues having strictly negative real part, x ∊ R2 and u(.) : [0, ∞[→ [0,1] is a completely random measurable function. More precisely, we find a (coordinates invariant) necessary and sufficient condition on A and B for the origin to be asymptotically stable for each function u(.). This bidimensional problem assumes particular interest since linear systems of higher dimensions can be reduced to our situation.

More compact invariant manifolds appearing in the non-linear coupling of oscillators

2006

Abstract Near partially elliptic rest points of generic families of vector fields or transformations, many types of normally hyperbolic invariant compact manifolds can appear, diffeomorphic to intersections of quadrics. Jacobi—Nijenhuis manifolds and compatible Jacobi structures

1999

Abstract We propose a definition of Jacobi—Nijenhuis structures, that includes the Poisson—Nijenhuis structures as a particular case. The existence of a hierarchy of compatible Jacobi structures on a Jacobi—Nijenhuis manifold is also obtained.

Maximal regularity via reverse Hölder inequalities for elliptic systems of n-Laplace type involving measures

2008

In this note, we consider the regularity of solutions of the nonlinear elliptic systems of n-Laplacian type involving measures, and prove that the gradients of the solutions are in the weak Lebesgue space Ln,∞. We also obtain the a priori global and local estimates for the Ln,∞-norm of the gradients of the solutions without using BMO-estimates. The proofs are based on a new lemma on the higher integrability of functions.
