L'eleoselino nella tradizione popolare siciliana

2009

2017

Darbā ir analizēts lignānu daudzums sešos dažādas izcelsmes linsēklu paraugos, pielietojot šķidruma hromatogrāfijas masspektrometrijas metodi. Pētījumā veikta linsēklu tēju un pašu linsēklu analīze, izmantojot ekstrakcijas metodi. Rezultātā paraugos identificēti astoņi lignāni, kuru vidējais kopējais daudzums linsēklu tējās sastādīja 39,59 mg/100 g, bet, pielietojot ekstrakcijas metodi, vidējā kopējo lignānu masas koncentrācija sastādīja 145,51 mg/100 g.

Therapeutic effects of different doses of botulinum toxin in chronic anal fissure

1999

PURPOSE: The aim of this study was to evaluate the clinical and manometric results of three different doses of botulinum toxin and two methods of injection for the treatment of chronic idiopathic anal fissure. METHODS: Sixty-nine patients with chronic anal fissure were included in a nonrandomized, prospective trial of intrasphincteric injection of botulinum toxin. All patients reported postdefecatory anal pain lasting more than two months. Scoring systems were developed for anal pain, bleeding, and defecatory difficulty. Maximum resting and squeeze anal pressures were determined before and one month after treatment. Twenty-three patients undergoing a 5-U injection of diluted botulinum toxin…

Tratamientos terapéutica de la fisura anal crónica

2005

Current treatment of chronic anal fissure continues to be based on conventional conservative measures in a high percentage of cases. What is known as chemical sphincterotomy aims to achieve a temporary decrease of anal pressures that allows fissures to heal. There are various alternatives such as nitroglycerine or diltiazem ointment and botulinum toxin injections. However, because of collateral effects and recurrences in the medium term, the definitive role of these treatments remains to be elucidated. Nevertheless, chemical sphincterotomy should be the first option in patients with a high risk of incontinence. "Open" or "closed" lateral internal sphincterotomy performed in the ambulatory s…

What could have caused this weight loss?

2016

International audience; Achalasia is rare and often diagnosed late.It is characterized by functional gastro-oesophageal sphincter obstruction.Aspiration pneumonia may complicate the achalasia.Intrasphincteric botulinum toxin injection is one of the main treatments for achalasia.

Fisurectomy and anoplasty with botulinum toxin injection in patients with chronic anal posterior fissure with hypertonia: a long-term evaluation.

2020

AbstractChronic anal fissure’s (CAF) etiopathogenesis remain unclear. CAF of the posterior commissure (CAPF) are often characterized by internal anal sphincter (IAS) hypertonia. The treatment of this disease aimed to reduce IAS hypertonia. Due to the high rate of anal incontinence after LIS, the employment of sphincter preserving surgical techniques associated to pharmacological sphincterotomy appears more sensible. The aim of our study is to evaluate the long-term results of fissurectomy and anoplasty with V–Y cutaneous flap advancement associated to 30 UI of botulinum toxin injection for CAPF with IAS hypertonia. We enrolled 45 patients undergone to fissurectomy and anoplasty with V–Y cut…

Complications of botulinum toxin and fillers: A narrative review

2019

Background Cosmetic surgery and esthetic procedures have become a billion dollar industry owing to the ever-growing demand of the population to stay young. The injectable treatments including fillers and botulinum toxin have become highly popular because of their quick, predictable and lasting results in the management of facial wrinkles and rejuvenation. Although these treatment modalities are relatively safe, they are associated with certain side effects. Aims In this review, we will focus on the complications of fillers and botulinum toxin. Patients/methods The literature research considered published journal articles (clinical trials or scientific reviews). Studies were identified by se…

Vascular Decompression of Trigeminal and Facial Nerves in the Posterior Fossa under Endoscope-Assisted Keyhole Conditions

2008

Objective: The aim of this study was to determine the use and safety of the endoscope as an adjunct during trigeminal and facial nerve decompression procedures performed under keyhole conditions in the posterior fossa. Method: We performed 67 surgeries in 65 patients with symptomatic trigeminal and facial nerve compression syndromes. The diagnosis was made mainly on the basis of clinical history, examination, and magnetic resonance imaging scans. Surgery was performed in all cases under endoscope-assisted keyhole conditions. The follow-up was 1 week postoperatively, 6 months, and then yearly up to 7 years. All 34 patients with trigeminal neuralgia received preoperative medication treatment …
