The angiopoietin-like 4 (ANGPTL4) protein belongs to a superfamily of secreted proteins structurally related to factors modulating angiogenesis known as angiopoietins. At first, ANGPTL4 has been identified as an adipokine exclusively involved in lipid metabolism, because of its prevalent expression in liver and adipose tissue. Here we used liver-specific conditional knockout mice (MetKO) and a nutritional model of hepatic steatosis to address the role of c-Met in cholesterol-mediated liver toxicity. Abstract Using mTOR inhibitors (mTORi) as anticancer drugs led to hyperglycemia (12–50%) and hyperlipidemia (7–73%) in phase-III trials. These high rates require adapted treatment in cancer patients. Before initiating mTORi treatment, lipid profile screening should be systematic, with fasting glucose assay in non-diabetic patients and HbA1C in diabetic patients. After initiation, lipid profile monitoring should be systematic, with fasting glucose assay in non-diabetic patients, every 2 weeks for the first month and then monthly. The present study was designed to further investigate the impact of cannabinoid receptors on the parameters involved in insulin secretion and blood glucose recognition. Exercise and supplementation with conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) are used to reduce body weight and to improve health. Applied together, they may exert a synergistic effect. However, the effects of exercise and CLA supplementation on liver metabolism are poorly understood. The aim of this study was to examine the influence of exercise and CLA supplementation on fatty acids (FA) composition in mouse liver.
