Ligands affecting silver antimicrobial efficacy on Listeria monocytogenes and Salmonella enterica

Although silver is being extensively used in food or other applications as the key component to control microbial proliferation, many factors affecting its real potential are still unknown. In the present work, the presence of specific ligands or the contents in organic matter was correlated with silver speciation and its antibacterial performance. Silver was found to be only active in form of free silver ions (FSI). The presence of chloride ions produced an equilibrium of stable silver chloride complexes which were void of antimicrobial efficacy. The purpose of this article is to verify what communication roles the learner of Polish as a foreign language plays in improving listening skills (and in which communication systems). The author, referring to the concepts of Michel Rost and Denis McQuail, analyzes teaching tasks and correlated texts present in three selected coursebooks for A2 level. The research shows that the teaching tasks do little to prepare learners for authentic listening in natural communicative contexts: students play little differentiated roles in only two systems. This paper analyses the disclosure on the directors’ remuneration, whose primary role in a company, makes their information of particular interest to different stakeholders. The authors’ aim is to investigate the official documents (for 2009) of the 50 most capitalized listed Italian companies, in order to verify the compulsory and/or voluntary disclosure provided about the remuneration paid to their directors. The findings will be summarized in a disclosure index whose correlation with some parameters (selected on the basis of specific research hypothesis) concerning board structure and company size will be assessed.
