Theatricalization of self : personal blogs as theatre performance

The aim of this thesis is to compare personal blogs and theatre art. The study is conducted as theoretical discourse and focuses on comparison of personal blogs with a subgenre of theatre art, performance art. Using actual selected examples from theatre art as well as from personal blogs, the study aims to outline the similarities, which personal blogs share with theatre performance. The theoretical framework of the thesis suggests that personal blogs with their nature of the observed subject, the blogger, and the observer, the reader, produce one of the basic elements of theatre art, theatricality. Considering the combined effects of CO2 fertilization and climate change drivers on plant physiology leads to a modest increase in simulated European forest transpiration in spite of the effects of CO2-induced stomatal closure. Crucial aspects of Wolterstorff’s theory are his understanding of justice as inherent rights and justice as inherent worth. Interrelated to this are the concepts of life-goods, well-being and the good life. Within this framework of rights grounded in worth, the notions of natural human rights and human dignity occupy a special position. Mindfulness-, hyväksyntä- ja arvopohjaisten interventioiden käytöstä on saatu lupaavia tuloksia työhyvinvoinnin parantamisessa, mutta työn imun yhteydessä niitä ei ole juurikaan tutkittu. Tämän tutkimuksen tarkoituksena oli tutkia mindfulness-, hyväksyntä- ja arvopohjaisen (MIHA) -intervention vaikuttavuutta työn imuun ja erikseen sen kolmeen ulottuvuuteen, tarmokkuuteen, omistautumiseen ja uppoutumiseen, sekä psykologiseen joustavuuteen. Ekologisen kriisin ratkaisemiseksi tarvittavan kestävyysmurroksen yhteydessä on lisääntyvästi alettu keskustella oikeudenmukaisuudesta tai reiluudesta. Reilu siirtymä tarkoittaa sosiaalisen oikeudenmukaisuuden nostamista keskeiseksi osaksi ympäristökriisin ratkaisua, mikä on tärkeää sekä siirtymän hyväksyttävyyden että toimivan toteutuksen kannalta. Samalla oikeudenmukaisuuden korostaminen pitää kuitenkin sisällään riskin ympäristökriisin ratkaisemisen hidastumisesta. The Nanoeconomics of Firm‐Level Decision‐Making and Industry Evolution : Evidence from 200 Years of Paper and Pulp Making

Research summary We explore the qualitative differences in entries and exits over time. Using qualitative and quantitative data on 96 firms over 200 years, we study industry evolution from the perspective of individual decision‐making situations. Our historical and statistical analyses reveal the vital role of technology investments in determining firm outcomes, and the technological, institutional and governance dynamics that lead firms to invest or to abstain. Our main theoretical and methodological contribution concerns the importance of the multiplicity of firm‐level rationalities and decisions as fundamentals in theorizing on industry evolution.
