Effects of non-tracking solar collector orientation on energy production : photovoltaic systems

Abstract: This Master's thesis proposes a new method for calculating the optimum tilt and orientation angle of a fitted solar collector. In addition to using geographical data, this method takes into account the radiation data and weather statistics of prospective locations. This makes the calculations valid not only for certain latitudes, but also for certain radiation and weather conditions. Calculations were done by estimating the energy production of a given solar array using a sequence of different tilt angles and orientation angles. New simple hydrophobic proline derivatives as highly active and stereoselective catalysts for the direct asymmetric aldol reaction in aqueous medium

New 4-substituted acyloxyproline derivatives with different hydrophobic properties of the acyl group were easily synthesized and used as catalysts in the direct asymmetric aldol reaction between cyclic ketones (cyclohexanone and cyclopentanone) and several substituted benzaldehydes. Reactions were carried out using water, this being the best reaction medium examined. Screening of these catalysts showed that compounds bearing the most hydrophobic acyl chains [4-phenylbutanoate and 4-(pyren-1-yl)butanoate] provided better results. Minor Losses and Best Manifold Position in the Optimal Design of Paired Sloped Drip Laterals

Arranging paired laterals so that two distribution pipes extend in opposite directions from a common manifold contributes to providing more uniform pressure to all laterals in the system, increasing water use and energy efficiency of micro-irrigation. Towards this end, by neglecting emitters’ minor losses, analytical procedures to design paired drip laterals laid on uniform slopes were introduced. Modeling the probability distribution of peak discharge for infiltrating hillslopes

Hillslope response plays a fundamental role in the prediction of peak discharge at the basin outlet. The peak discharge for the critical duration of rainfall and its probability distribution are needed for designing urban infrastructure facilities. This study derives the probability distribution, denoted as GABS model, by coupling three models: (1) the Green-Ampt model for computing infiltration, (2) the kinematic wave model for computing discharge hydrograph from the hillslope, and (3) the intensity-duration-frequency (IDF) model for computing design rainfall intensity. Coordinated social behaviors, such as dancing together, encourage multifarious rhythmic and interpersonally coupled movements from which observers can extract socially and contextually relevant information. The investigation of relations between visual social perception and kinematic motor coupling is important for social cognition. Abstract In this paper, we consider a finite-dimensional vector space 𝒫 {{\mathcal{P}}} over the Galois field GF ( p ) {\operatorname{GF}(p)} , with p being an odd prime, and the family ℬ k x {{\mathcal{B}}_{k}^{x}} of all k-sets of elements of 𝒫 {\mathcal{P}} summing up to a given element x. The main result of the paper is the characterization, for x = 0 {x=0} , of the permutations of 𝒫 {\mathcal{P}} inducing permutations of ℬ k 0 {{\mathcal{B}}_{k}^{0}} as the invertible linear mappings of the vector space 𝒫 {\mathcal{P}} if p does not divide k, and as the invertible affinities of the affine space 𝒫 {\mathcal{P}} if p divides k. Aby problem ten prawidłowo przeanalizować, w opracowaniu została przyjęta następująca struktura. W ramach zagadnień wstępnych przedstawiono, co należałoby uznać za przedmiot umowy deweloperskiej, jak prawnie należałoby zakwalifikować umowę deweloperską oraz czym różni się termin na stwierdzenie wady od terminu na jej zgłoszenie.
