New data about the landscape of the first occupation of Mallorca: Coval Simó (Escorca, Mallorca)
2020
The Coval Simó shelter provides some of the oldest evidence for settlement on the island of Mallorca and the Balearic archipelago. It also has the peculiarity of being a habitat in a mountain area, so that the human groups that settled there had to adapt their agricultural and farming system to this environment. The plant remains (wood charcoal and seeds) recovered in the occupation levels allow us to address these issues, since they are the result of the different activities developed in this cavity: fuel for domestic activities, food for livestock, etc. The results of this study show that between the III and II millennium cal BC, an agricultural system based on livestock and cereal farmi…
Lorcaserin bidirectionally regulates dopaminergic function site-dependently and disrupts dopamine brain area correlations in rats
2020
Abstract Lorcaserin, which is a selective agonist of serotonin2C receptors (5-HT2CRs), is a new FDA-approved anti-obesity drug that has also shown therapeutic promise in other brain disorders, such as addiction and epilepsy. The modulation of dopaminergic function might be critical in the therapeutic effect of lorcaserin, but its exact effect is unknown. Here, we studied the effect of the peripheral administration of lorcaserin on the ventral tegmental area (VTA), the substantia nigra pars compacta (SNc) dopaminergic neural activity, dopamine (DA) dialysis levels in the nucleus accumbens and striatum and on DA tissue levels in 29 different rat brain regions. Lorcaserin (5–640 μg/kg, i.v.) m…

Haemodynamic effects of a single intravenous dose of lorcainide in patients with heart disease
1980
The cardiovascular effects of a single i.v. dose (2 mg/kg over 5 min) of lorcainide were studied in 14 patients with heart disease. In the haemodynamic part of the study (6 patients), the aortic and pulmonary systolic, diastolic and mean pressures, left ventricular systolic and end-diastolic pressures, cardiac output and the rate of rise of left ventricular pressure were measured before and for 30 min after administration of the drug. Lorcainide produced a slight and short-lasting decrease in the aortic and pulmonary systolic pressures, and all other pressure values remained unchanged. The cardiac output and systemic vascular resistance were not altered by lorcainide. It consistently depres…
Experience in the long term use of new antiarrhythmic drugs.
1985
Meinertz et a1. (1984) investigated the long term efficacy and tolerability of flecainide in patients with ventricular arrhythmias. 15 patients were studied, 8 women and 7 men, aged 19 to 74 (mean 58.7) years, with more than 30 ventricular premature complexes (VPCs) per hour, and ventricular arrhythmias of Lown grade IVA or IVB. 11 had coronary artery disease and 2 had idiopathic dilated cardiomyopathy. Patients were excluded on the basis of sustained ventricular tachycardia (VT) [defined as ~ 3 consecutive beats at a rate of> 100 beats/min]; myocardial infarction within the last 6 months; unstable angina; severe congestive heart failure; or conduction abnormalities. Previously unsuccessful…

Particularismes i populismes als països de llengua catalana
2020
