Patterns of Children’s Relationships With Parents and Teachers in Grade 1 : Links to Task Persistence and Performance

Our study aimed to investigate the patterns of children’s relationships with their parents and teachers, the development of these relationships during Grade 1, and respective links to children’s learning (in task persistence and performance). Parents of 350 children answered questionnaires about the quality of their relationships with their children; 25 teachers answered questions about children’s task persistence at school and the quality of their relationships with their students; 350 children completed literacy and math performance tests; and six testers evaluated children’s task persistence when completing those tests. Vanhempien osallistuminen kuudesluokkalaisten kotitehtävien tekemiseen

Tässä tutkimuksessa tarkasteltiin, kuinka paljon ja kenen aloitteesta vanhemmat osallistuvat kuudesluokkalaisten lastensa kotitehtävien tekemiseen sekä missä määrin vanhempien osallistuminen riippuu lapsen taitotasosta ja sukupuolesta. Tämän lisäksi tutkittiin, onko äidin omilla oppimisen pulmilla ja lapsen opiskelussa kohtaamilla vaikeuksilla yhteyttä osallistumiseen ja äidin kotitehtävätilanteissa kokemiin positiivisiin ja negatiivisiin tunteisiin. Joy in Motion is a nationwide physical activity and well-being programme aimed at early childhood education and care (ECEC) launched in 2015 in Finland. The aim is to enable every child to be physically active and enjoy physical activity every day. Latest updates of the Finnish recommendations for physical activity in early childhood was published in 2016. The key message in the recommendations is Joy, play and doing together. Daily physical activity is just as important for children's well-being as healthy nutrition and sufficient sleep and rest. In recent years, we have got more information on physical activity and motor skills of preschool-aged children in Finland. However, national monitoring system for this age groups is still lacking in Finland like in many other European countries too. This presentation describes the process and recent results of an on-going research and development project JOYPAM - monitoring the joy of motion, physical activity and motor skills for pre-school-aged children. Tämä työ oli pilottitutkimus tietokoneavusteisen pelin toisesta versiosta, jonka tarkoituksena on opettaa assosiaatio-oppimisen avulla kirjain-äännevastaavuuksia sekä kirjoitettujen ja äännettyjen tavujen välistä yhteyttä. Samalla tutkittiin oliko pelaamisella vaikutusta lasten suoriutumiseen kirjainten nimeämiskykyä sekä fonologista tietoisuutta mittaaviin tehtäviin ja oliko pelin ensimmäiseen versioon tehdyt korjaukset parantaneet sen pelattavuutta. Tutkimukseen osallistui viisi esikouluikäistä poikaa, jotka valittiin tutkimukseen huonon kirjainten nimeämiskykynsä ja esikouluopettajien havaitseman kuntoutustarpeen perusteella. Background Copper(II) is a heavy metal whose levels have increased in some marine ecosystems to polluting levels. Dinoflagellates, an important phytoplankton group, are at the base of aquatic food chains and bioaccumulation of copper by these microorganisms can result in complex ecosystem alterations, so we investigated how copper disturbs those cells.
