Synchronization methods are used to obtain higher fertility when artificial insemination (AI) is applied to lactating rabbit does. The most common methods are eCG administration or temporary doe–litter separation. Nevertheless, drawbacks have been reported, such as negative side effects of hormonal treatment in the doe and low litter growth due to absence of suckling, respectively. Retinal fundus images acquired with nonmydriatic digital fundus cameras are versatile tools for the diagnosis of various retinal diseases. Because of the ease of use of newer camera models and their relatively low cost, these cameras can be employed by operators with limited training for telemedicine or point-of-care (PoC) applications. Abstract Three new lipodepsipeptides, fusaristatins D–F (1–3) and a new α-pyrone derivative, (7S,8R)-(−)-chlamydospordiol (5), together with eight known compounds (4, 6–12) were obtained from solid rice cultures of Fusarium sp. BZCB-CA, an endophyte of the Chinese medicinal plant, Bothriospermum chinense. The resolution power of gel permeation chromatography (GPC) columns and their combinations is tested as a function of the pore sizes of the gels and as a function of the elution velocity. The efficiency of GPC is characterized by the ratio UG/UT, where UG is the experimental, and UT the theoretical, inhomogeneity. The latter quantity is obtained from absolute measurements of Mw, and Mn. The ratio passes through a minimum for a series of columns with increasing pore sizes. The minimum occurs at that column or column set which is best suited to resolving a given polymer. UG/UT for any column decreases with decreasing elution velocity. A family of planar curves is called a Moser family if it contains an isometric copy of every rectifiable curve in $\mathbb{R}^{2}$ of length one. The classical "worm problem" of L. Moser from 1966 asks for the least area covered by the curves in any Moser family. In 1979, J. M. Marstrand proved that the answer is not zero: the union of curves in a Moser family has always area at least $c$ for some small absolute constant $c > 0$. We strengthen Marstrand's result by showing that for $p > 3$, the $p$-modulus of a Moser family of curves is at least $c_{p} > 0$.
A Novel Homozygous Mutation in the Solute Carrier Family 26 Member 7 Gene Causes Thyroid Dyshormonogenesis in a Girl with Congenital Hypothyroidism

We investigated the genetic cause of thyroid dyshormonogenesis in a girl with congenital hypothyroidism. Genetic analysis showed that she was homozygous for a hitherto not described mutation (c.1432_1433delGT, p.V478KfsX11) in the solute carrier family 26 member 7 (SLC26A7) gene. SLC26A7 is proposed to be an anion transporter in the thyroid gland. The mutation leads to a frameshift and a premature stop codon. The predicted protein is truncated and very likely to be nonfunctional if it was expressed at all. In addition, in silico studies predict the mutation to be pathogenic.
