Las crecidas en ramblas valencianas mediterráneas
2001
This paper takes into account the characterisation of ephemeral stream hydrology from Mediterranean environments. The heavy floods that these countries suffer are due to firstly, the physical watershed features (steep slopes, scarced vegetation cover and thin soils) and, secondly, to the intense and variable rainfall. Large quantities of precipitation fall in a matter of hours, or even minutes, over very steep catchments, causing catastrophic flash-floods, with very pointed hydrographs and short time lags. Using hydrological daily data from the Rambla de la Viuda basin and five-minute data from both Barranc de Carraixet and Rambla de Poyo basins, we have analysed the rainfall- runoff proces…

2015
Bakalaura darbs izstrādāts Vides Risinājumu institūta un Alūksnes novada pašvaldības projekta „Alūksnes ezera gultnes, piekrastes zonas veģetācijas un ekosistēmas pētniecība” ietvaros. Darbā mērķis bija raksturot Alūksnes ezera zivju sabiedrības sastāvu un izpētīt dominējošo zivju sugu barošanās paradumus. Zinātniskā kontrolzveja pamatā veikta pēc Eiropas un Latvijas zivju paraugu ievākšanas standarta, izmantojot Nordic tipa daudzacu žauntīklus. Konstatēts, ka Alūksnes ezera zivju sabiedrība atbilst mērenās klimata joslas mezotrofu ezeru ihtiofaunai un ka no konkrētām zivju sugām gan pēc biomasas, gan pēc skaita dominēja asari Perca fluviatilis. Saistībā ar zivju barošanās paradumiem secinā…
Sedimentation in the Kandi extensional basin (Benin and Niger): fluvial and marine deposits related to the Late Ordovician deglaciation in West Africa
2003
Abstract The Lower Paleozoic detrital succession of the half-graben Kandi Basin in West Africa (Niger-Benin) is about 600 m thick and rests unconformably on the Pan-African basement. Along the western edge of the basin, the base of the succession locally features large glacial fault-bounded paleovalleys. These valleys are filled by the lowermost continental deposits of the Were Formation characterized by massive diamictites with dropstones, and coarse to conglomeratic sandstones associated with large-scale channel structures and internal erosional truncations. The uppermost braided-river deposits of the Were Formation deposited across the entire basin are overlain by the Late Ordovician–Ear…
“Nuove strategie per l’identità territoriale: verso l’istituzione del Parco Fluviale urbano dell’Oreto a Palermo”
2005
New Strategies for Local Identity: Towards the Oreto River Park in Palermo. With regards to the Oreto river park in Palermo, the Council of Palermo, the near Council of Altofonte and the Council of Monreale activated in 2004 a project for environmental regeneration. This project is focused on a Life Environment program named “Sun & Wind”. In this context, a research group of the University of Palermo, in collaboration with the three city councils, studied ecological, natural and cultural resources in order to improve the quality of life of inhabitants and tourists. According to the strategical planning framework, the masterplan of Palermo is integrated with the ones of Altofonte and Monreal…
Palaeoecological response to Greenlandian (Early Holocene) climatic changes: Insight from an abandoned-channel sequence of the Meuse River at Autreco…
2020
Abstract A Greenlandian (Early Holocene) palaeochannel of the Meuse River is described from Autrecourt-et-Pourron in the Ardennes region of northern France. During the Younger Dryas, fluvial deposits represent a high-energy, sinuous palaeochannel, but at the onset of the Holocene, progressive channel abandonment resulted in the establishment of a low-energy meandering river system. Well-dated studies using palynology, carpology, malacology and geomorphology reveal a Greenlandian succession of changes in fluvial dynamics and vegetation. Between 11,700 and 11,400 cal yr BP, warmer temperatures led to the development of a birch community (Betula sp.) within an open grassland, dominated by herb…
Dzīvsudraba akumulācija asara Perca fluviatilis audos Rīgas līča piekrastē
2019
Current distribution of Pilularia globulifera L. in Poland – changes of geographical range and habitat preferences
2013
Pilularia globulifera is a subatlantic European fern threatened with extinction. In Poland, it reaches the eastern border of its continuous range. Up to the end of the 20th century, it was observed here in 21 stands; only 2 of them existed by the second half of the century, so the species was categorized as critically endangered. Five new locations have been found in western and northwestern Poland during the last 10 years. Abundant and permanent populations grow in 3 locations, while 2 stands were ephemeral. All the current stands are situated in anthropogenic habitats with spontaneous vegetation, in oligotrophic to eutrophic waters. One of the new localities is about …
