MR-Tomographie bei Innenbandverletzungen des Kniegelenkes
1992
Frequency and characteristics of lesions of the medial collateral ligaments (MCL) were studied by MRI in 155 patients with trauma to the knee. There were abnormalities of the MCL in 38% of cases with ligamentous injuries and in 27% these were combined with meniscal tears. 11% of these patients showed isolated rupture of MCL and as a result of the MRI findings were treated conservatively. By means of T2*-weighted images the individual lesions could be accurately localised. Characteristic findings have been defined.

Objectives: Non-Hodgkin lymphomas are malignant neoplastic proliferations of the immune system that can manifest as nodal or extranodal lymphomas. The aim of this study was to retrospectively investigate the site of occurrence of lymphomas in the head and neck area and to analyze the typical symptoms of patients who presented at an oral and maxillofacial surgical department. Material and Methods: All patient files from1971 until 2012 from an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery of a University were analyzed for the diagnosis non-Hodgkin lymphoma. Epidemiologic data and data regarding the localization of the malignant lymphoma were evaluated. Results: 62 patients, 34 women and 28 men with a non-Ho…
Relevance of the Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation-Specific Comorbidity Index (HCT-CI) On Non-Relapse Related Mortality (NRM) in Patients with Acute…
2009
Abstract Abstract 3352 Poster Board III-240 Allogeneic HSCT is established as a potent curative therapy in adult patients with high risk ALL. However, due to transplant-related morbidity and lethality the gains in relapse prevention do not necessarily translate into survival advantages in the overall patient population. Defining the role of allogeneic HSCT in ALL patients in first complete remission (CR1) according to leukemia related risk factors, to transplant related risk factors (e.g. HLA matching, conditioning therapy and immunosuppressive treatment), and to comorbidity related risks, remains a major task for upcoming clinical trials. Several retrospective studies suggest that the HCT-…

Potential Involvement of Impaired Venous Outflow from the Brain in Neurodegeneration: Lessons Learned from the Research on Chronic Cerebrospinal Veno…
2019
About 10 years ago, the so-called chronic cerebrospinal venous insufficiency syndrome was discovered. This clinical entity, which is associated with extracranial venous abnormalities that impair venous outflow from the brain, was initially found exclusively in multiple sclerosis patients. Currently, we know that such venous lesions can also be revealed in other neurological pathologies, including Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases. Although direct causative role of chronic cerebrospinal venous insufficiency in these neurological diseases still remains elusive, in this paper, we suggest that perhaps an abnormal venous drainage of the brain affects functioning of the glymphatic system, whi…
Patient preferences in the treatment of hemophilia A: impact of storage conditions on product choice

Data were collected via a 30-minute, face-to-face interview in six countries and via a web-based…
Use of wearable cardioverter‐defibrillator in association with catheter ablation for atrial fibrillation‐related tachycardiomyopathy
2019
Implantable cardioverter‐defibrillator (ICD) implantation is not indicated in patients with potentially transient or reversible causes of sudden cardiac death (SCD). Wearable cardioverter‐defibrillator (WCD) is increasingly used for SCD prevention in patients who are temporary at high risk of ventricular arrhythmia. Hereby, we describe a case of tachycardiomyopathy successfully managed with ablation and WCD backup. Implantable cardioverter‐defibrillators are a Class I indication by American College of Cardiology/American Heart Association/Heart Rhythm Society guidelines to prevent SCD in patients with nonischemic dilated cardiomyopathy, New York Heart Association (NYHA) functional class II …
Sentinel-node biopsy in early stage ovarian cancer: a prospective multicentre study (SELLY)
2019
BackgroundSystematic para-aortic and bilateral pelvic lymphadenectomy is included in the standard comprehensive surgical staging in presumed early epithelial ovarian cancer. No prospective randomized evidence suggests it has potential therapeutic value, and related morbidity is not negligible.Primary Objective(s)To assess sensitivity, safety, and feasibility of the sentinel lymph node technique in identifying the presence of lymph node metastases in patients with early stage epithelial ovarian cancer.Study HypothesisSentinel lymph node detection with indocyanine green can accurately predict nodal status in a cohort of women with early stage epithelial ovarian cancer.Trial DesignThe SELLY tr…
Survival of patients with gastric lymphoma in Germany and in the United States
2015
Background and Aim This study aims to examine survival for gastric lymphomas and its main subtypes, mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue lymphoma (MALT), and diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL), in Germany and in the United States. Methods Data for patients diagnosed in 1997–2010 were used from 10 population-based German cancer registries and compared to the data from the US Surveillance, Epidemiology and End Results (SEER) 13 registries database. Patients age 15–74 diagnosed with gastric lymphomas were included in the analysis. Period analysis and modeled period analysis were used to estimate 5-year and 10-year relative survival (RS) in 2002–2010 and survival trends from 2002–2004 to 2008–2…
