Enniatin B induces expression changes in the electron transport chain pathway related genes in lymphoblastic T-cell line

Abstract Enniatin B is a ionophoric and lipophilic mycotoxin which reaches the bloodstream and has the ability to penetrate into cellular membranes. The purpose of this study was to reveal changes in the gene expression profile caused by enniatin B in human Jurkat lymphoblastic T-cells after 24 h of exposure at 1.5, 3 and 5 μM by next generation sequencing. It was found that up to 27% of human genome expression levels were significantly altered (5750 genes for both down-regulation and up-regulation). CNS-localized myeloid cells capture living invading T cells during neuroinflammation

Using an in vivo real-time approach, the authors show that local myeloid cells remove early CNS-invading T cells via an engulfment pathway that is dependent on N-acetyl-D-glucosamine (GlcNAc) and lectin. These results reveal a novel capacity of myeloid cells to counteract neuroinflammation.

Among the family of regulatory B cells, the subset able to produce interleukin-10 (IL-10) is the most studied, yet its biology is still a matter of investigation. The IgG1 B-cell receptor provides survival and proliferative signals analogue to the Igα but not the Igβ co-receptor.

The function of the IgM B-cell receptor (BCR) is dependent on intact signaling of the co-receptors Igα and Igβ, both of which contain a cytoplasmic tail bearing an immunoreceptor tyrosine-based activation motif. We have previously demonstrated that the cytoplasmic tail of the IgG1 BCR can partially compensate for the loss of the signaling moiety of Igα. Here, we show that unlike Igα, Igβ signaling is indispensable for the development and function of IgG1-expressing B cells. Deletion of the cytoplasmic signaling tail of Igβ compromised the survival and proliferation not only of IgM(+) B cells but also of IgG1-expressing B cells.
