Study of the action of phosphate ions contained in the mixing water of the hydration of a Portland cement.

Cementation is considered as the most attractive solution for the conditioning of low and intermediate radioactive wastes. The species contained in these wastes can strongly influence the reactivity of the cement pastes, it is in particular the case of the ortho-phosphate ions which are found in the evaporation concentrates. The aim of our work was to determine the influence of these ions on the hydration and the rheological properties of the cement pastes at early age as well as the mechanical and physical properties on the hardened material.

Driving simulator aims at giving the sensation of driving as in a real case. For a similar situation, the driver has to react in the same way as in reality in terms of ‘self motion’. This paper aims to show that the reception of British coloured illustrated books in the early twentieth-century reflects the artistic and aesthetic repositioning induced by the development of photomechanical process. Photomechanical reproduction freed the graphic line as well as colour. Reviews published at the turn of the century—as exemplified by The Studio—reveal a tension between opacity and transparency, materiality and lightness, chromophilia and chromophobia. These oppositions apply to the art of the book—as in the books illustrated by Arthur Rackham and Edmund Dulac—as well as to interior decoration.
