Effect of inoculation with selected Bradyrhizobium spp. on the survival and growth of Acacia mangium saplings after 20 months in the field

This work was designed to test the long-term effect of the inoculation of #Acacia mangium# seedlings with 10 selected strains of #Bradyrhizobium spp.#. The percentage of survival of seedlings inoculated with any of the #Bradyrhizobium# strains was increased by 10% as compared to the control plants. However, out of the 10 #Bradyrhizobium# strains tested, only 3 strains, Aust l3c, Lu 4 and Tel 8, belonging to the phylogenelic group 1, significandy enhanced the growth of #A. mangium# after 20 months in the field. Tradicionalment s'ha pensat que la traducció com a eina a l'aula de llengües estrangeres va quedar desaconsellada en el mètode directe. Així, des de llavors, molts docents han defensat la idea que la traducció és un recurs nociu per ensenyar idiomes, encara que, segons Cook (2010), no hi ha evidències que ho hagin provat científicament. Abans de continuar acceptant aquesta creença heretada del mètode directe, pensem que és necessari revaluar si la traducció va ser rebutjada per tots els seus exponents i si va ser realment possible excloure-la de les aules del moment. International audience; The influence of growth hormone (GH) on 4-nitrophenol, bilirubin, testosterone, androsterone and estrone glucuronidation activities was studied in fully activated male rat hepatic microsomes. Sham-operated and hypophysectomized animals were injected with two different dosages of GH, mimicking either the male or female GH secretion pattern. Half the animals received thyroxine and cortisol in concentrations chosen to compensate for the lack of thyroid hormones and glucocorticoids in hypophysectomized rats. Te-As-Se glass microstructured optical fiber for the middle infrared

International audience; We present the first fabrication, to the best of our knowledge, of chalcogenide microstructured optical fibers in Te-As-Se glass, their optical characterization, and numerical simulations in the middle infrared. In a first fiber, numerical simulations exhibit a single-mode behavior at 3.39 and 9.3 μm, in good agreement with experimental near-field captures at 9.3 μm. The second fiber is not monomode between 3.39 and 9.3 μm, but the fundamental losses are 9 dB/m at 3:39 μm and 6 dB/m at 9.3 μm. The experimental mode field diameters are compared to the theoretical ones with a good accordance.

Dielectric loaded surface plasmon polariton waveguides (DLSPPWs) enable transmission at a sub-wavelength scale of both electrical and plasmonic (optical waves at the interface between a metal and a dielectric) signals in the same circuitry. Moreover, the use of a polymer as the dielectric load enables the functionalization of DLSPPWs. Therefore, this configuration is of great interest for integrated photonic applications.
