La Mindful Attention Awareness Scale (MAAS) es una escala sencilla y de rápida administración que evalúa, de forma global, la capacidad disposicional de un individuo de estar atento y consciente de la experiencia del momento presente en la vida cotidiana. La escala es un autoinfome unifactorial de 15 ítems con visión del constructo mindfulness centrada en la variable atención/consciencia. The objective of this qualitative study is to reveal the discursive reality of Finnish women, who have chosen to follow their husbands to expatriate assignments. The research material includes interviews of seventeen (17) Finnish housewives who lived in Singapore in 1999. The primary theoretical framework of the study is a social-constructive view, in which the reality is seen to have been constructed through meanings that create and maintain cultural practices, social roles and institutions. This article avails the concept of social generation to explore how intergenerational differences contribute to the diversity in the appropriation of mobile telephony in rural India. Rural India has experienced numerous social changes such as the decline of agriculture, changes in caste and gender relationships, and rising levels of education which have influenced different age groups in distinct ways during recent decades. The article is based on interviews, observation, and survey data on the use of mobile phones in a village in rural West Bengal during 2005, 2007–2008, 2010, and 2012–2013. peerReviewed

Millaista apua ja hoivaa maaseudun asukkaat tarvitsevat – entä millaista apua paikallinen yhteisö voi tarjota? Maaseudun asukkaiden vapaaehtoisen toiminnan yhdistäminen osaksi paikallista palvelujen tarjontaa voisi ratkaista monia harvaan asuttujen alueiden terveyden edistämisen haasteita. Omaehtoinen, hyvinvointia edistävä yhteisöllinen toiminta on jo osa monien maaseudulla asuvien arkea. Samalla yhteisöllisyys on tärkeä arvo, jota halutaan vaalia osana maaseudun elämäntapaa.
