ABSTRACTThis study explores images of childhood by analysing children's pictorial representations and accompanying captions. The focus is on how children together with adults represent childhood in the home and daycare settings in a oneweek diary study. The key analytical tool was framing, which is used to highlight what kinds of images are (re)produced and narrated. The frames that emerged were (1) portrayal of the child via cultural products and societal relations, (2) portrayal of the child via individuality, relationships and attachment, (3) the child as a symbol of capabilities, and (4) the child as a learner. Bakalaura darba tēma ir „Iedzīvotāju ienākuma nodokļa maksāšanas pienākuma atbilstība sociāli atbildīgas valsts principam Latvijā.” Šāda darba tēma tika izvēlēta, jo Latvijas sabiedrība arvien vairāk noslāņojas pēc ienākumu līmeņa, un iedzīvotāji nespēj apmierināt savas pamatvajadzības, savukārt valsts budžeta ieņēmumi no iedzīvotāju ienākuma nodokļa katru gadu palielinās, veidojot būtisku daļu no kopējiem valsts budžeta ieņēmumiem. Līdz ar to prima facie liekas, ka iedzīvotājiem vispirms ir jānodrošina ieņēmumi valstij, lai tā var izpildīt funkcijas, un tikai tad iedzīvotāji var apmierināt savas pamatvajadzības. In-beam test results of the Super-FRS GEM-TPC detector prototype with relativistic uranium ion beam

As an essential part of the Super-FRS particle identification, the GEM-TPC detector in a twin field-cage configuration will provide position information at up to 1 MHz counting rate with a spatial resolution 95 %. This detector is designed to provide particle-beam tracking information of projectiles ranging from protons to uranium. The performance of the GEM-TPC detector in a single field-cage configuration and newly integrated AWAGS readout electronics with a differential output was studied at the FRS for the response to the uranium beam at 850 MeV/u with intensity up to 1000 ions/spill. Artikkelissa tutkitaan suomalaisen maiseman ja identiteetin kuvauksia suomenkielisessä rocklyriikassa vuosina 1980–1999. Aineisto muodostuu kahdestakymmenestä laulusta yhdeltätoista eri artistilta ja yhtyeeltä. Tutkimusmetodina käytetään temaattista sisällönanalyysiä. Kappaleiden ja niiden lyriikoiden tutkimus tuo lisätietoa Suomi-kuvan tutkimukseen ja nostaa esiin suomalaisen rockmusiikin äänen, joka on mukana ihmisten arjessa. Thermoelectric Radiation Detector Based on Superconductor-Ferromagnet Systems

We suggest an ultrasensitive detector of electromagnetic fields exploiting the giant thermoelectric effect recently found in superconductor-ferromagnet hybrid structures. Compared with other types of superconducting detectors where the detected signal is based on variations of the detector impedance, the thermoelectric detector has the advantage of requiring no external driving fields. This is especially relevant in multipixel detectors, where the number of bias lines and the heating induced by them are an issue.
