Introducción: El cáncer de mama triple negativo se caracteriza porque las pacientes que alcanzan una respuesta patológica completa a la quimioterapia neoadyuvante presentan mejor pronóstico. Sin embargo, las pacientes refractarias o pobremente respondedoras a la quimioterapia neoadyuvante presentan una peor supervivencia. Todo ello hace que sea de vital importancia la identificación temprana de estas pacientes, para tratar de alterar la secuencia de tratamiento pasando inicialmente a cirugía o valorar otras alternativas terapéuticas.
