En el presente proyecto de tesis se ha contribuido a elucidar el importante papel que ejercen los nodos de regulación transcripcional en un contexto fisiológico en el que tienen lugar diferentes procesos biológicos, moleculares y celulares de forma simultánea y coordinada. Concretamente, se ha estudiado cómo dos inputs primarios, NF-κB e Id2, desencadenan un determinado output o proceso biológico concreto en la glándula mamaria y el hígado. Kandidaatintutkielma tarkastelee suomalaisen nykytaiteilijan, Olli Joen (s.1943), maalaustuotannossa esiintyvää realistista ja irrealistista maisemakuvastoa aikavälillä 1984-2012. Tutkielma selvittää Olli Joen maisematuotannon eri aikakausien tyypillisimpiä piirteitä, sekä taiteilijan intentioita ja kokemusta ympäristöstä, maisemasta ja representaatiosta. Joen subjektiivinen kokemus maisemasta realistisen ja irrealistisen kuvaston analysoinnissa nousee tutkielmassa keskeisimmäksi tarkastelun välineeksi.

The seeming impairment of retinoid metabolism in human breast tumor cells has been attributed to the lower expression of cellular retinol binding proteins (CRBPs), of alcohol/retinol dehydrogenases, or aldehyde/retinaldehyde dehydrogenases. In a previous study we indicated that xanthine dehydrogenase (XDH) is able to oxidize actively both all-trans-retinol (t-ROL) bound to the CRBP (holo-CRBP) and all-trans-retinaldehyde (t-RAL) to all-trans-retinoic acid (t-RA) in human mammary epithelial cells (HMEC). Tiivistelmä-Abstract Maisterintutkielma käsittelee rintamamiestaloon liitettyä elämäntapaa sosiaalisen median kontekstissa 2010-luvulla. Tutkielman lähtökohtana olivat yhteisöpalvelu Facebookissa tehdyt havainnot keskustelua herättävistä aiheista. Aineistolähtöistä analyysiä varten rekrytoitiin Facebookin rintamamiestaloa käsittelevistä suljetuista keskusteluryhmistä henkilöitä, jotka vastasivat sähköpostitse lähetettyyn puolistrukturoituun kyselyyn. Vastauksia kyselyyn saatiin 25 kappaletta. Tutkin hybridisyyttä, identiteettiä ja rasismia Chimamanda Ngozi Adichien kolmannessa romaanissa Americanah (2013). Hybridisyyttä on tutkittu postkoloniaalisen kirjallisuudentutkimukseen kuuluvana, mutta se taipuu toisen kulttuurin omaksumisen tutkimiseen muissakin tilanteissa, esimerkiksi maahanmuutossa ja pakolaisuudessa. Identiteetti kuvaa ihmisen syvintä ja ominta olemusta. Puhutaan myös hybridisestä identiteetistä, kun ihminen omaksuu kahden tai useamman kulttuurin toimintatapoja. Americanah käsittelee rasismia erityisesti Yhdysvalloissa, sillä rotusyrjintä on osa amerikkalaista kulttuuria.

Wpływał na układ sił i konflikty wewnętrzne w socjaldemokracji niemieckiej (SPD), będąc największym oponentem polityki prowadzonej przez rząd kanclerza Helmuta Schmidta, przyczynił się do powstania Partii Zielonych, a jego działania doprowadziły do zaistnienia polemiki w związkach zawodowych i były bodźcem do dyskusji etycznych i religijnych w Kościele katolickim i protestanckim w RFN. Stał się również przedmiotem wielu kontrowersji oraz symbolem aktywności i siły społecznej.

The sense of taste is a chemical sense and one of the most ancestral sensory modalities. It allows detectingand appreciating taste molecules present in our food. Beyond our vital needs, the pleasure elicited from whatwe eat can drive our feeding behaviors sometimes up to excess. Food intake involves several sensorysystems, mainly smell and taste. The underlying molecular mechanisms are relatively complex. This articlefocuses on the extent of the chemical space associated with the five primary tastes (sour, salty, sweet, bitterand umami), and details the fundamental role of gustatory receptors in the perception of taste as well aswithin interindividual variabilities.
Nuevas faunas de micromamíferos del Terciario continental de la Depresión Intermedia (provincia de Cuenca, España centro-oriental)

In this paper the fossil content of nine new micromammal bearing localities and that of 15 levels in a borehole from the Loranca Basin (eastern Tague Basin, Prov. of Cuenca) is described. The age ranges from early Arvernian (Late Oligocene) to Turolian (Late Miocene). 47 rodent and lagomorph taxons have been found which are arranged in 8 biostratigraphic units. The Loranca-2 borehole contains 15 fossiliferous levels covering the Upper Oligocene/Lower Miocene. These additional data complete the faunal sequence published by Díaz & López(1919).
