Evidence of a non-conservative mass transfer in the ultra-compact X-ray source XB 1916-053

The dipping source XB 1916-053 is a compact binary system with an orbital period of 50 min harboring a neutron star. Using ten new {\it Chandra} observations and one {\it Swift/XRT} observation, we are able to extend the baseline of the orbital ephemeris; this allows us to exclude some models that explain the dip arrival times. The Chandra observations provide a good plasma diagnostic of the ionized absorber and allow us to determine whether it is placed at the outer rim of the accretion disk or closer to the compact object. From the available observations we are able to obtain three new dip arrival times extending the baseline of the orbital ephemeris from 37 to 40 years. From the analysis…

The research concerns the analysis of structural behaviour of some historic-monumental buildings in which steel structures are used for the seismic protection. A dynamic model has been made to individuate the macro-element with an high seismic risk, that is, for church studied, the drum-dome system. Then a scaled model has been tested to determinate the evolution of the lesions, the retrofitting works, that are constituted by steel frames, bare or braced, inserted inside door/window holes of the drum-dome system, and the variation structural ductility. Pētnieciskā darba mērķis ir atrast un analizēt stereotipus britu tiešsaites avīžu The Guardian un Daily Mail rakstos par biznesu, lai uzzinātu no kādiem valodas elementiem sastāv stereotipu atspoguļojums un kā mediju diskursā tiek atspoguļotas dzimuma un profesionālās identitātes. Darba teorētiskā daļa apskata pašreizējā pētījuma metodi un iepriekšējo pētnieku darbus par šo tēmu. Izmantotā kvalitatīvā pētījuma metode ir Normana Fērklova (1992) trīsdimensionālais kritiskās diskursa analīzes modelis. Tässä tutkimuksessa tutkin omaelämäkerrallisen kirjoittamisen terapeuttisia mahdollisuuksia osana kaksisuuntaisesta mielialahäiriöstä kuntoutumista. Tutkimukseni pohjaa terapeuttisesta kirjoittamisesta ja omaelämäkerrallisesta kirjoittamisesta tuotetun tutkimustiedon soveltamiseen suhteessa Marya Hornbacherin, Terry Cheneyn ja Cecilia Aspin omaelämäkerrallisten romaanien kerrontaan ja sisältöön sekä henkilökohtaiseen kokemustietooni kaksisuuntaisesta mielialahäiriöstä kirjoittamisesta ja sen terapeuttisuudesta. Florid cemento-osseous dysplasia: A case report

Cemento-osseous dysplasias are a group of disorders known to originate from periodontal ligament tissues and involve, essentially, the same pathological process. They are usually classified, depending on their extent and radiographic appearances, into three main groups: periapical (surrounds the periapical region of teeth and are bilateral), florid (sclerotic symmetrical masses) and focal (single lesion) cemental dysplasias. Florid cemento-osseous dysplasia clearly appears to be a form of bone and cemental dysplasia that is limited to jaws. Objective: Disabled people have the same right as other people to receive the health care they need, but they sometimes have difficulties to achieve it. In Castilla y Leon it has come into effect a law to guarantee Primary and Secondary Care coordination to provide dental treatment under sedation or anaesthesia to mentally disabled people who need it. Our aim is to evaluate the results of the implementation of such a law through a specific protocol in our health setting.
