Production of exotic hypernuclei from excited nuclear systems

We show that within a hybrid two-stage approach one can explain novel experimental data on the production of hypernuclei emitted from projectile residues in relativistic ion collisions. This reaction proceeds via formation of intermediate moderately excited hypernuclear systems, which decay into conventional nuclei and hyperfragments afterward. With a similar reaction mechanism one can also obtain weakly bound exotic hypernuclei (such as $\ensuremath{\Lambda}n$ and H-dibaryons), which may not be easily accessible in other processes.

Sterile neutrino models and nonminimal cosmologies

Cosmological measurements are affected by the energy density of massive neutrinos. We extend here a recent analysis of current cosmological data to nonminimal cosmologies. Several possible scenarios are examined: a constant $w\ensuremath{\ne}\ensuremath{-}1$ dark energy equation of state, a nonflat universe, a time-varying dark energy component and coupled dark matter-dark energy universes or modified gravity scenarios. When considering cosmological data only, ($3+2$) massive neutrino models with $\ensuremath{\sim}0.5\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{eV}$ sterile species are allowed at 95% confidence level. A study of strange particle production in nu(mu) charged current interactions in the NOMAD experiment

A study of strange particle production in $\nu_\mu$ charged current interactions has been performed using the data from the NOMAD experiment. Yields of neutral strange particles ($K^0_s, \Lambda, \bar{\Lambda}$) have been measured. Mean multiplicities are reported as a function of the event kinematic variables $E_\nu$, $W^2$ and $Q^2$ as well as of the variables describing particle behaviour within a hadronic jet: $x_F$, $z$ and $p_T^2$. Decays of resonances and heavy hyperons with identified $K^0_s$ and $\Lambda$ in the final state have been analyzed. Duality relation between radiation thermodynamics and cosmic string loop thermodynamics

We discuss thermodynamics of electromagnetic radiation, with p=(1/3){rho} and S{proportional_to}T{sup 3}V, and of cosmic string loops, with p=-(1/3){rho} and S{proportional_to}T{sup -3}V, where p stands for pressure, T temperature, {rho} energy density, S entropy, and V volume. We write the thermodynamic formalisms under a common framework that illustrates their formal relationship and allows us to go from one to the other through a smooth transformation. Low lying S=-1 excited baryons and chiral symmetry

The s-wave meson-baryon interaction in the $S = -1$ sector is studied by means of coupled-channels, using the lowest-order chiral Lagrangian and the N/D method to implement unitarity. The loops are regularized using dimensional renormalization. In addition to the previously studied $\Lambda (1405)$, employing this chiral approach leads to the dynamical generation of two more s-wave hyperon resonances, the $\Lambda(1670)$ and $\Sigma(1620)$ states. We make comparisons with experimental data and look for poles in the complex plane obtaining the couplings of the resonances to the different final states. Measurement of theΛb0Lifetime in the DecayΛb0→J/ψΛ0with the D0 Detector

We present measurements of the Lambda(b)(0) lifetime in the exclusive decay channel Lambda(b)(0)-> J/psi Lambda(0), with J/psi ->mu(+)mu(-) and Lambda(0)-> p pi(-), the B-0 lifetime in the decay B-0-> J/psi K-S(0) with J/psi ->mu(+)mu(-) and K-S(0)->pi(+)pi(-), and the ratio of these lifetimes. The analysis is based on approximately 250 pb(-1) of data recorded with the D0 detector in p (p) over bar collisions at root s = 1.96 TeV. The Lambda(b)(0) lifetime is determined to be tau(Lambda(b)(0))=1.22(-0.18)(+0.22)(stat)+/- 0.04(syst) ps, the B-0 lifetime tau(B-0)=1.40(-) (+0.11)(0.10)(stat)+/- 0.03(syst) ps, and the ratio tau(Lambda(b)(0))/tau(B-0)=0.87(-) (+0.17)(0.14)(stat)+/- 0.03(syst). Measurement of Singly Cabibbo Suppressed Decays Λc+→pπ+π− and Λc+→pK+K−

Using 567 pb(-1) of data collected with the BESIII detector at a center-of-mass energy of root s = 4.599 GeV, near the Lambda(+)(c)->(Lambda) over bar (-)(c) threshold, we study the singly Cabibbo-suppressed decays Lambda c(+) -> p pi(+) pi(-) and Lambda(+)(c) -> pK(+) K- By normalizing with respect to the Cabibbo-favored decay Lambda(+)(c)-> p pi(+)pi(-) we obtain ratios of branching fractions: [B(Lambda(+)(c) -> p pi(+)pi(-))/B(Lambda(+)(c) -> pK(-)pi(+))] = (6.70 +/- 0.48 +/- 0.25)% [B Lambda(+)(c) -> p phi)/B(Lambda(+)(c) -> pK(-)pi(+))] = (1.81 +/- 0.33 +/- 0.13)%,and [B(Lambda(+)(c) -> pK(+)K(non-phi)(-)/B(Lambda(+)(c) -> pK(-)pi(+))] (9.36 +/- 2.22 +/- 0.71)x10(-3), where the uncerta…

Search for baryonic decays ofψ(3770)andψ(4040)

By analyzing data samples of 2.9 fb(-1) collected at root s = 3.773 GeV, 482 pb(-1) collected at root s = 4.009 GeV and 67 pb(-1) collected at root s = 3.542, 3.554, 3.561, 3.600 and 3.650 GeV with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII storage ring, we search for psi(3770) and psi(4040) decay to baryonic final states, including Lambda(Lambda) over bar pi(+)pi(-), Lambda(Lambda) over bar pi(0), Lambda(Lambda) over bar eta , Sigma(0)(Sigma) over bar (0) and Xi(0) (Xi) over bar (0) decays. None are observed, and upper limits are set at the 90% confidence level.

Two-photon widths of theχc0,2states and helicity analysis forχc2→γγ

Based on a data sample of 106 X 10(6) psi' events collected with the BESIII detector, the decays psi' -> gamma chi(c0,2), chi(c0,2) -> gamma gamma are studied to determine the two-photon widths of the chi(c0,2) states. The two-photon decay branching fractions are determined to be B(chi(c0) -> gamma gamma) = (2.24 +/- 0.19 +/- 0.12 +/- 0.08) X 10(-4) and B(chi(c2) -> gamma gamma) = (3.21 +/- 0.18 +/- 0.17 +/- 0.13) X 10(-4) From these, the two-photon widths are determined to be Gamma(gamma gamma)(chi(c0)) = (2.33 +/- 0.20 +/- 0.13 +/- 0.17) keV, Gamma(gamma gamma)(chi(c2)) = (0.63 +/- 0.04 +/- 0.04 +/- 0.04) keV, and R = Gamma(gamma gamma)(chi(c2))/Gamma(gamma gamma)(chi(c0)) = 0.271 +/- 0.0…

On the measured lifetime of light hypernuclei 3ΛH and 4ΛH

A statistical combination of the experimental lifetime estimations available in the literatures is performed for 3 Λ H and 4 Λ H, including several recent measurements. The combined average values of the lifetime for 3 Λ H and 4 Λ H are respectively 216−16+19 ps and 192−18+20 ps with a reduced χ2 of 0.89 and 0.48. A new insight into the lifetime estimation of the HypHI Phase 0 experiment by a Bayesian approach is also presented. In this approach, several different prior distributions including the combination of previous lifetime data and a Jeffrey prior are used.
