Short term associations of ambient nitrogen dioxide with daily total, cardiovascular, and respiratory mortality: multilocation analysis in 398 cities

Objective To evaluate the short term associations between nitrogen dioxide (NO2) and total, cardiovascular, and respiratory mortality across multiple countries/regions worldwide, using a uniform analytical protocol. Design Two stage, time series approach, with overdispersed generalised linear models and multilevel meta-analysis. Setting 398 cities in 22 low to high income countries/regions. Dotā bakalaura darba ietvaros tika veikta padziļināta literatūras izpēte par hlorētiem parafīniem, to klātbūtni pārtikas produktos, piesārņojuma avotiem un pētīšanas metodēm. Iepriekš izstrādātā metode tika uzlabota un pielietota lai analizētu 52 bērnu pārtikas produktus. Metodes pareizība tika izvērtēta papildus analizējot EURL-POPs (Eiropas Savienības references laboratorija halogenēto noturīgo organisko piesārņotāju noteikšanā barībā un pārtikā) references materiālus. This paper is an analysis of the stylistic function of phraseology in three contemporary novels, originally written in English —Enduring Love, by Ian McEwan; The Road, by Cormac McCarthy; and Midnight’s Children, by Salman Rushdie—, and their corresponding translations into Catalan —Amor perdurable, La carretera and Els fills de la mitjanit. Ideology has always influenced translation, yet this fact became a topic of scholarly research only in the 1990s. The working of ideology in literary translations most often manifests itself as a conflict of value systems. From vast reservoir of foreign sources, the native axiology absorbs values that it needs to sustain its culture. It is not a coincidence that Anglo-American literature, propagating ideas of democracy and individual freedom, became popular in Poland in the first half of the nineteenth-century when Poland did not exist as a state.
