A debated question in the literature is the degree of anatomical and functional lateralization of the executive control processes subserved by the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (DLPFC) during recognition memory retrieval. We investigated if transient inhibition and excitation of the left and right DLPFC at retrieval by means of repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) modulate recognition memory performance in 100 healthy controls (HCs) and in 8 patients with Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI). Bakalaura darbā “Latvijas sieviešu palīdzības korpusa darbība 1920.–1940. gadā” analizēta sieviešu darbība, pārejot uz miera periodu līdz korpusa likvidēšanai. Darba mērķis ir atspoguļot būtiskākos Latvijas Sieviešu palīdzības korpusa darbības virzienus sociālās palīdzības sniegšanā starpkaru periodā. Darba sākumā tiek sniegts ieskats par sieviešu sociālā stāvokļa izmaiņām laika periodā no 19. gadsimta vidus līdz 20. gadsimta vidum. Tālāk seko paša Latvijas sieviešu palīdzības korpusa dibināšanas apskats, aplūkojot arī militāro situāciju Latvijā 1919. gadā. Pēc tam pētījumā tiek atspoguļota korpusa darbība no 1920. gada līdz 1940. gadam gan Rīgā, gan reģionos.

Dzeramā ūdens ieguves veidi un tā kvalitāte Latvijā nav pietiekoši labi izpētīta ārpus lielajām pilsētām, tādēļ trūkst datu par dzeramā ūdens atbilstību ES direktīvām un MK noteikumiem. Darba mērķis ir noskaidrot dzeramā ūdens ieguves veidus un ķīmisko kvalitāti Medemciema teritorijā un noteikt to atbilstību Ministru Kabineta noteikumiem Nr. 235. Bakalaura darbs sastāv no trīs daļām. Pirmajā daļā veikts literatūras apskats par pazemes un dzeramo ūdeņu izcelsmi, veidošanās apstākļiem, piesārņojumu un to kvalitātes uzraudzīšanas metodēm. Aims: To assess and compare the optical quality of the myopic and hyperopic implantable collamer lens (ICL) from its wavefront aberrations for different powers and pupil diameters. Settings and Design: Prospective study. Material and Methods: The wavefront aberrations of two myopic (−3 and −6 diopters (D)) and two hyperopic V4b ICLs (+3 and +6D) were measured in vitro . Il ruolo della corteccia prefrontale dorsolaterale (DLPFC) in compiti di memoria è stato largamente documentato. Una questione ancora molto dibattuta è il grado di lateralizzazione anatomica-funzionale dei processi di controllo esecutivo della DLPFC coinvolti nella memoria di riconoscimento. Il lavoro di tesi indaga le connessioni tra DLPFC e ippocampo mediante l’applicazione di tecniche di neuromodulazione dell’eccitabilità della DLPFC che consentano di accrescere l’attività ippocampale durante compiti di memoria di riconoscimento.
