Semiotikas un lingvistikas nozarē ir izstrādātas dažādas teorijas mūzikas analīzei, īpaši neaplūkojot papildu mūzikas elementu devumu mūzikas nozīmē. Some Investigations on Similarity Measures Based on Absent Words

In this paper we investigate similarity measures based on minimal absent words, introduced by Chairungsee and Crochemore in [1]. They make use of a length-weighted index on a sample set corresponding to the symmetric difference M(x)ΔM(y) of the minimal absent words M(x) and M(y) of two sequences x and y, respectively. We first propose a variant of this measure by choosing as a sample set a proper subset (x, y) of M(x)ΔM(y), which appears to be more appropriate for distinguishing x and y. From the algebraic point of view, we prove that (x, y) is the base of the ideal generated by M(x)ΔM(y). Time domain symmetry parameters analysis for series arc fault detection

This paper presents a feasibility study of exploiting the symmetry of some parameters for series arc fault detection in electrical circuits. The considered parameters are defined in the time domain and they are based on the current signal derivative and the evaluation of cross-correlation between subsequent observation windows. The analysis is carried out for AC systems, starting from an experimental characterization, which has been carried out in accordance with the Standard UL 1699 requirements for "unwanted tripping tests"and "operation inhibition tests"of arc fault circuit interrupters (AFCIs). Background: Research into the effects of asthma treatments on the extra-pulmonary symptoms of severe asthma is limited by the absence of a suitable questionnaire. The aim was to create a questionnaire suitable for intervention studies by selecting symptoms that are statistically associated with asthma pathology and therefore may improve when pathology is reduced. Methods: Patients attending a specialist asthma clinic completed the 65-item General Symptom Questionnaire (GSQ-65), a questionnaire validated for assessing symptoms of people with functional disorders.
