Polyethylene composites filled with n‐alkyl‐functionalized siloxane‐silsesquioxane resins and sol‐gel silicas

High‐density polyethylene (HDPE) composites filled with silicon‐based fillers were prepared by melt blending. The use of non‐functionalized and n‐octyl‐functionalized siloxane‐silsesquioxane resins and the sol‐gel silicas as fillers allowed us to evaluate the influence of functionalization of the fillers on the properties of the composites. The melting and crystallization temperatures of the composites were found to be only slightly affected by the addition of the silicon‐based fillers. In turn, the crystallization degree values were increased, in particular for the materials containing non‐functionalized fillers. Funkcjonalizowane woski polietylenowe jako kompatybilizatory kompozytów polietylenowo-drzewnych o wysokim stopniu napełnienia

Badano proces otrzymywania kompozytów polimerowo-drzewnych o dużym stopniu napełnienia (60-80%), przygotowanych na bazie polietylenu małej gęstości (PE-LD) z udziałem komercyjnej mączki drzewnej (Lignocel C 120 i Arbocel C 320) oraz dodatkiem wosków polietylenowych sfunkcjonalizowanych poprzez ich utlenienie lub szczepienie bezwodnika maleinowego, stosowanych jako czynniki kompatybilizujące. Otrzymane materiały poddano charakterystyce określając ich podstawowe właściwości mechaniczne oraz chłonność wody. La sperimentazione esposta tratta dell’impiego di fibre di PET, ricavate dal semplice taglio di contenitori per bevande, nel rinforzo di calcestruzzi destinati anche a impieghi strutturali. Indaga la durabilità delle fibre in ambiente fortemente basico e le caratteristiche meccaniche di calcestruzzi rinforzati con differenti dosaggi di fibre. A comparative study of mechanical properties and elemental and structural composition was made for aluminum nitride thin films deposited with reactive magnetron sputtering and plasma enhanced atomic layer deposition (PEALD). The sputtered films were deposited on Si (100), Mo (110), and Al (111) oriented substrates to study the effect of substrate texture on film properties. For the PEALD trimethylaluminum–ammonia films, the effects of process parameters, such as temperature, bias voltage, and plasma gas (ammonia versus N2/H2), on the AlN properties were studied. W celu nadania właściwości hydrofilowych, które powinny ułatwić rozkład odpadów w środowisku naturalnym, przeprowadzono szczepienie PE-LD kwasem itakonowym (KI) wobec nadtlenku dikumylu (DCP). Proces realizowano dwuetapowo w wytłaczarce jednoślimakowej, stosując różne stężenia KI (3—10% mas.) i DCP (do 1,1% mas.). Metodą pirolitycznej chromatografiigazowej (Py/GC/MS) zidentyfikowano produkty termicznego rozkładu KI. Analiza FT-IR wykluczyła ich obecność w kompozycjach po szczepieniu, natomiast sugerowała szczepienie KI. The influence of oxidized starch on the physicochemical properties of cast soy protein isolate films is determined in this study. Films were cast from heated (70 °C for 20 min) alkaline (pH=10) aqueous solutions of 7 % soy protein isolate containing 50 % (by mass) glycerol as a plasticizer and different levels of added oxidized starch (0, 5, 10, 15, and 20 %, by mass).
