Automatic Processing of Changes in Facial Emotions in Dysphoria: A Magnetoencephalography Study

It is not known to what extent the automatic encoding and change detection of peripherally presented facial emotion is altered in dysphoria. The negative bias in automatic face processing in particular has rarely been studied. We used magnetoencephalography (MEG) to record automatic brain responses to happy and sad faces in dysphoric (Beck’s Depression Inventory ≥ 13) and control participants. Decoding attentional states for neurofeedback : Mindfulness vs. wandering thoughts

Neurofeedback requires a direct translation of neuronal brain activity to sensory input given to the user or subject. However, decoding certain states, e.g., mindfulness or wandering thoughts, from ongoing brain activity remains an unresolved problem. In this study, we used magnetoencephalography (MEG) to acquire brain activity during mindfulness meditation and thought-inducing tasks mimicking wandering thoughts. Brain dynamics of recommendation-based social influence on preference change: A magnetoencephalography study.

People change their preferences when exposed to others’ opinions. We examine the neural basis of how peer feedback influences an individual’s recommendation behavior. In addition, we investigate if the personality trait of ‘agreeableness’ modulates behavioral change and neural responses. In our experiment, participants with low and high agreeableness indicated their degree of recommendation of commercial brands, while subjected to peer group feedback. Underestimation of reliability is discussed from the viewpoint of deflation in estimates of reliability caused by artificial systematic technical or mechanical error in the estimates of correlation (MEC). Most traditional estimators of reliability embed product–moment correlation coefficient (PMC) in the form of item–score correlation (Rit) or principal component or factor loading (λi). Carcinogenic aspect of xenobiotic molecules belonging to the peroxisome proliferator family.

It is known that a short-term exposure of rat, mice or incubation of hepatic cells with fibrate molecules leads to increase in peroxisome number and cell hyperplasia. Further, long-term incubation of cells (at least a year) show transformed characteristics with foci and nodules. To explain the hepatocarcinogenic effect of peroxisome proliferators in rodents we studied the effect of peroxisome proliferators on rat liver oncogenes expression.
