Changes in structure and conduction type upon addition of Ir to ZnO thin films
2017
Zn-Ir-O (Zn/Ir ≈ 1/1) thin films have been reported to be a potential p-type TCO material. It is, however, unknown whether it is possible to achieve p-type conductivity at low Ir content, and how the type and the magnitude of conductivity are affected by the film structure. To investigate the changes in properties taking place at low and moderate Ir content, this study focuses on the structure, electrical and optical properties of ZnO:Ir films with iridium concentration varying between 0.0 and 16.4 at.%. ZnO:Ir thin films were deposited on glass, Si, and Ti substrates by DC reactive magnetron co-sputtering at room temperature. Low Ir content (up to 5.1 at.%) films contain both a nano-crysta…
The effect of annealing temperature and time on synthesis of graphene thin films by rapid thermal annealing
2015
In this paper, we performed synthesis of graphene thin films by rapid thermal annealing (RTA) of thin nickel copper (Ni/Cu) layers deposited on spectroscopic graphite as a carbon source. Furthermore, we investigated the effect of annealing temperature and annealing time on formation and quality of synthesized graphene films. Raman spectroscopy study showed that annealing at lower temperatures results in formation of monolayer graphene films, while annealing at higher temperatures results in formation of multilayer graphene films. We used Raman mapping to determine the distribution of graphene sheets. Surface morphology of graphene thin films was investigated by atomic force microscopy and s…

2008
A novel solution processable phosphorescent dendrimer based on cyclic phosphazene (CP) cores has been prepared and used as emissive layers in simple OLED architectures, providing efficiencies of 24.0 cd A^-1 and 16.7 lm W^-1. Very high titanium content mesoporous silicas
2001
Titanium content in mesoporous titanosilicate catalysts has been modulated up to a minimum Si/Ti value of 1.9 by using complexing agents able to coordinate both Si and Ti atoms and harmonize the reactivity of the resulting precursors avoiding subsequent phase segregation and leading to chemically very homogeneous materials. Supramolecular self-assembling in mesostructured materials through charge tuning in the inorganic phase
1998
Supramolecular self-assembling of organic CTA+ micelles and inorganic [VO(H2O)PO4]n^q-2 2D-anions for the isolation of hexagonal mesostructured materials can be reached by charge tuning in the inorganic phase through the adjustment of the vanadium mean oxidation state. Temperature control during Spark Plasma Sintering and application to up-scaling and complex shaping
2013
International audience; The determination and the homogeneity of the sample temperature during consolidation of powders by Spark Plasma Sintering (SPS) are addressed. Densifications were carried out in three different facilities differing by their constructors and their size. A structural transformation activated in a TiAl alloy was used as a marker of the sample temperature and finite element modeling were performed to evaluate the temperature at each point of the set-up. A good agreement between experimental and simulated data is exhibited. Alloys with identical microstructures were sintered and the homogeneity of the microstructure was better in the largest machines or when the sample wa…
Evolution of the electronic properties of graded poly(thienylene vinylene)-poly(pyrrylene vinylene) mixed copolymers
1993
Abstract We present a valence effective Hamiltonian (VEH) theoretical investigation of the evolution of the electronic properties of poly(thienylene vinylene)-poly(pyrrylene vinylene) mixed copolymers as a function of the unit cell content on the basis of ab initio 3–21G∗ and 3–21G optimized geometries. As a consequence of the strong localization of the LUCO both electron affinity and bandgap deviate from a linear dependence, and only the ionization potential presents the expected values.
VEH electronic band structure of poly(phenylsilane)
1993
Abstract The electronic structure of all-trans syndiotactic and isotactic poly(phenylsilane) has been calculated using the valence effective Hamiltonian (VEH) method. The effects of attachment of the phenyl group on the electronic properties of polysilane are analysed in detail. The VEH results show a decrease of ionization potential and an increase of electron affinity which determine an important reduction of the bandgap. These features are correlated with σ−π and σ ∗ −π ∗ interactions between the silicon backbone and the phenyl group.
