Self-assembly of 1D- and 3D-networks through non-coordination intermolecular forces: synthesis and crystal structures of copper(I) complexes based on…
2007
Reaction of [Cu2(H3CCN)2(μ-pydz)3][PF6]2 (1) with an excess of pyridazine or phthalazine yielded the novel dinuclear complexes [Cu2(μ-pydz)3(pydz)2][PF6]2 (2) and [Cu2 (μ- pydz)(μ-phtz)2(phtz)2][PF6]2 (5), respectively. Depolymerisation of the coordination polymer 1 ∞ {[Cu(μ-pydz)2][PF6]} (3) in dichloromethane by addition of an excess of benzo[c]cinnoline afforded the dinuclear copper(I) salt [Cu2(μ-pydz)2(pydz)2(benzo[c]cinnoline)2][PF6]2 (4). Furthermore, a new route for the preparation of bis(benzonitrile)tris(μ-phthalazine)dicopper(I) bis(trifluoromethanesulfonate), [Cu2(C6H5CN)2(μ-phtz)3][CF3SO3]2 (7), was established from {[Cu(CF3SO3)]2 ・C6H5Me}, phthalazine and benzonitrile via the …
Copper(I) Halides (X = Br, I) Coordinated to Bis(arylthio)methane Ligands: Aryl Substitution and Halide Effects on the Dimensionality, Cluster Size a…
2014
Bis(phenylthio)methane (L1) reacts with CuI to yield the 1D-coordination polymer [{Cu4(μ3-I)4}(μ-L1)2]n (1) bearing cubane Cu4I4 clusters as connecting nodes. The crystal structures at 115, 155, 195, and 235 K provided evidence for a phase transition changing from the monoclinic space group C2/c to P21/c. The self-assembly process of CuI with bis(p-tolylthio)methane (L2), bis(4-methoxyphenylthio)methane (L3), and bis(4-bromo-phenylthio)methane (L4) affords the 1D-coordination polymers [{Cu4(μ3-I)4}(μ-Lx)2]n (x = 2, 3, or 4). Compounds 2 and 4 are isostructural with C2/c low temperature polymorph of 1, whereas the inversion centers and 2-fold axes are lost in 3 (space group Cc). The use of b…
Dispersion Forces and Counterintuitive Steric Effects in Main Group Molecules: Heavier Group 14 (Si-Pb) Dichalcogenolate Carbene Analogues with Sub-9…
2013
The synthesis and spectroscopic and structural characterization of an extensive series of acyclic, monomeric tetrylene dichalcogenolates of formula M(ChAr)2 (M = Si, Ge, Sn, Pb; Ch = O, S, or Se; Ar = bulky m-terphenyl ligand, including two new acyclic silylenes) are described. They were found to possess several unusual features-the most notable of which is their strong tendency to display acute interligand, Ch-M-Ch, bond angles that are often well below 90°. Furthermore, and contrary to normal steric expectations, the interligand angles were found to become narrower as the size of the ligand was increased. Experimental and structural data in conjunction with high-level DFT calculations, in…
Aminomethyl-Substituted Ferrocenes and Derivatives: Straightforward Synthetic Routes, Structural Characterization, and Electrochemical Analysis
2013
A variety of aminomethyl-substituted ferrocenes and the parent compounds (iminomethyl)ferrocenes, azaferrocenophanes, and diferrocenylamines can be selectively synthesized from reductive amination of 1,1′-diformylferrocene or formylferrocene. The optimized one- or two-step reactions have delivered 13 new compounds, isolated in 65–97% yields, which include tertiary (ferrocenylmethyl)amines and azaferrocenophanes by using NaBH(OAc)3 as a mild reducing agent and (iminomethyl)ferrocenes and secondary (ferrocenylmethyl)amines by using LiAlH4. X-ray structures of representative members of these ferrocene derivative families have evidenced the preferred conformation adopted by ferrocene backbones,…
Synthesis of a macrobicycle incorporating the tris(pyrazolyl)methane ligand.
2004
Steric crowding of the 3-position of tris(pyrazolyl)borate and -methane ligands has produced tetrahedral metal complexes with controlled reactivity. As an alternative, we propose to incorporate the tris(pyrazolyl)methane chelate in a macrobicyclic structure in order to create a cavity with well-defined dimensions and shape. Acid-catalyzed equilibration of excess of the new pyrazole 3-(1H-pyrazol-3-yl)benzenemethanethiol acetate with HC(3,5-Me(2)pz)(3) followed by hydrolysis affords a functionalized tris(pyrazolyl)methane, which reacts with 1,3,5-tris(bromomethyl)benzene in K(2)CO(3)/DMF to give the title compound. Methane-derived carbonate conduits from the late Aptian of Salinac (Marne Bleues, Vocontian Basin, France): Petrology and biosignatures
2015
Abstract Peculiar carbonate bodies occur in distinct marl layers of the Marnes Bleues Formation (Aptian–Albian, Vocontian Basin, Southern France). The carbonate conduits exhibit pipe- or sausage-like forms and a central channel. Their sizes range between 30 and 60 cm in length and 5–10 cm in diameter. The conduit carbonates consist of automicrite authigenically formed within the sediment. Millimeter-sized aggregates of framboidal pyrite are abundant within the conduit automicrites, probably representing former colonies of sulfate reducing bacteria. The central channel reflects former pathways of reduced fluids in the carbonate conduit. Ni-enrichments at the margins of the central cavity are…
Trihalomethanes in swimming pool water in four areas of Spain participating in the INMA project
2010
Discovering Copper for Methane C–H Bond Functionalization
2015
The copper complex Tp(CF3)2,BrCu(NCMe) (1, Tp(CF3)2,Br = hydrotris((3,5-bis(trifluoromethyl)-4-bromo)-pyrazol-1-yl)borate) catalyzes the insertion of the CHCO2Et group (from ethyl diazoacetate N2CHCO2Et, EDA) into the C–H bonds of methane, in a homogeneous process that uses supercritical carbon dioxide (scCO2) as the reaction medium. Other light alkanes such as ethane, propane, and butane have been also functionalized with this copper-based catalyst, in the first example of the derivatization of the series of C1–C4 alkanes with this metal and a soluble catalyst.

Measurements of Collisional Line Widths in the Stimulated Raman Q-Branch of the v1 Band of Silane
1990
0377-0486; Self-broadened widths of 28SiH4 in the v1 Q-branch have been measured at room temperature (295 K) using high-resolution stimulated Raman spectroscopy. These collisional widths have been obtained by fitting a superposition of Voigt profiles to the experimental spectra in the pressure range 28-154 Torr. No evidence for line mixing within the tetrahedral components of a Q(J) line has been found. The line broadening coefficients for J up to 13 depend weakly on the rotational quantum number. The mean value is 103.7 x 10(-3) cm-1 atm-1.
