A simple algorithm to estimate evapotranspiration from DAIS data: Application to the DAISEX campaigns
2005
DOI:10.1016/j.jhydrol.2005.03.027; The knowledge of evapotranspiration is of great interest in many applications such as assessing irrigation water use. In this paper, a methodology is presented to estimate evapotranspiration using the surface energy balance model S-SEBI (Simplified Surface Energy Balance Index) and the evaporative fraction. The method is applicable under the assumptions of constant atmospheric conditions and sufficient wet and dry pixels over the image. The model uses remotely sensed parameters such as albedo, MSAVI (Modified Soil Adjusted Vegetation Index) and surface temperature and emissivity images. The methodology has been applied over the Barrax test site, located in…

Joint image and motion reconstruction for PET using a B-spline motion model.
2012
We present a novel joint image and motion reconstruction method for PET. The method is based on gated data and reconstructs an image together with a motion function. The motion function can be used to transform the reconstructed image to any of the input gates. All available events (from all gates) are used in the reconstruction. The presented method uses a B-spline motion model, together with a novel motion regularization procedure that does not need a regularization parameter (which is usually extremely difficult to adjust). Several image and motion grid levels are used in order to reduce the reconstruction time. In a simulation study, the presented method is compared to a recently propos…
Comparison of stereo vision techniques for cloud-top height retrieval
2007
This paper presents an ongoing study for the estimation of the cloud-top height by using only geometrical methods. In agreement with some recent studies showing that it is possible to achieve reliable height estimations not only with the classical methods based on radiative transfer, this article includes a comparison of performances of a selected set of vision algorithms devoted to extract dense disparity maps or motion fields from Infra Red stereo image pairs. This collection includes both area-based techniques and an optical flow-based method and the comparison is accomplished by using a set of cloudy scenes selected from the Along-Track Scanning Radiometer (ATSR2) database. The first gr…
Water status modelling : impact of local rainfall variability in Burgundy (France)
2016
6 pages; International audience; Water status is a key factor in vine development and berry ripening. Water status is strongly affected byenvironmental parameters such as soil and climate. Whereas at local scale the soil variability is frequentlyaccounted for, little scientific reports are available concerning the impact of local rainfall variability ongrapevine water status. In order to accurately register the space and time variations of rainfall at local scale, adense rain-gauges network has been installed in Burgundy. It is composed of 45 rain-gauges over a 28 km² area.Rainfall data collected by each rain-gauge in 2014 and 2015 was used as input variables in the grapevine waterbalance m…
Dynamic integration of classifiers in the space of principal components
2003
Recent research has shown the integration of multiple classifiers to be one of the most important directions in machine learning and data mining. It was shown that, for an ensemble to be successful, it should consist of accurate and diverse base classifiers. However, it is also important that the integration procedure in the ensemble should properly utilize the ensemble diversity. In this paper, we present an algorithm for the dynamic integration of classifiers in the space of extracted features (FEDIC). It is based on the technique of dynamic integration, in which local accuracy estimates are calculated for each base classifier of an ensemble, in the neighborhood of a new instance to be pr…
A Two Stage Neural Architecture for Segmentation and Superquadrics Recovery from Range Data
2002
A novel, two stage, neural architecture for the segmentation of range data and their modeling with undeformed superquadrics is presented. The system is composed by two distinct neural networks: a SOM is used to perform data segmentation, and, for each segment, a multilayer feed-forward network performs model estimation.
Generation of Hardware/Software systems based on CAL dataflow description
2011
International audience; This paper presents a new development of rapid prototyping tools for system design based on data-flow specifications. In this context, the efficiency of tools for the automatic translation from the data-flow programs to C and/or HDL are assessed by means of two design cases. The paper also introduces the new concept of the automatic synthesis of interfaces. Such generic interfaces are implemented by using an embedded microprocessor, which can support a large variety of interfaces already available as native IP libraries in the case of FPGA. The two design cases described here have been developed, tested and validated on different implementation platforms. The results…
Multidimensional Model Design using Data Mining: A Rapid Prototyping Methodology
2017
[Departement_IRSTEA]Ecotechnologies [TR1_IRSTEA]MOTIVE; International audience; Designing and building a Data Warehouse (DW), and associated OLAP cubes, are long processes, during which decision-maker requirements play an important role. But decision-makers are not OLAP experts and can find it difficult to deal with the concepts behind DW and OLAP. To support DW design in this context, we propose: (i) a new rapid prototyping methodology, integrating two different DM algorithms, to define dimension hierarchies according to decision-maker knowledge; (ii) a complete UML Profile, to define a DW schema that integrates both the DM algorithms; (iii) a mapping process to transform multidimensional …
Equilibrium real gas computations using Marquina's scheme
2003
Marquina's approximate Riemann solver for the compressible Euler equations for gas dynamics is generalized to an arbitrary equilibrium equation of state. Applications of this solver to some test problems in one and two space dimensions show the desired accuracy and robustness
