The Charcot Marie Tooth Disease Mutation R94Q in MFN2 Decreases ATP Production but Increases Mitochondrial Respiration under Conditions of Mild Oxida…

2019

Charcot-Marie tooth disease is a hereditary polyneuropathy caused by mutations in Mitofusin-2 (MFN2), a GTPase in the outer mitochondrial membrane involved in the regulation of mitochondrial fusion and bioenergetics. Autosomal-dominant inheritance of a R94Q mutation in MFN2 causes the axonal subtype 2A2A which is characterized by early onset and progressive atrophy of distal muscles caused by motoneuronal degeneration. Here, we studied mitochondrial shape, respiration, cytosolic, and mitochondrial ATP content as well as mitochondrial quality control in MFN2-deficient fibroblasts stably expressing wildtype or R94Q MFN2. Under normal culture conditions, R94Q cells had slightly more fragmented…

Butene Isomerization and Double-Bond Migration on the H-ZSM-5 Outer Surface: A Density Functional Theory Study

2011

Isomerization of trans-but-2-ene to cis-but-2-ene and double bond migration of trans-but-2-ene to but-1-ene have been investigated by means of density functional theory calculations on a suitable model of H-ZSM-5 surface. The study has been afforded on outer surface sites by considering the hydroxyl group of either a SiO2(OH)2 or a AlO2H(OH)2 moiety. On these outer surface sites, one alkoxide species occurs as a stable intermediate both along the isomerization and double bond migration pathways. The latter process could also occur via a single-step mechanism, which involves a six-center transition state. The energy barriers of the outer surface processes above do not take any advantage by t…

Amphetamine and Methamphetamine Determinations in Biological Samples by High Performance Liquid Chromatography. A Review

1994

Abstract This critical review shows the different high performance liquid chromatography methods proposed for amphetamine and methamphetamine determinations. It is directed mainly towards sample clean up and derivatizations steps, because of their significance in such determinations.

Barns egne stemmer i mekling – En kvalitativ studie av barns erfaringer i obligatorisk mekling etter foreldres samlivsbrudd/skilsmisse

2017

Masteroppgave psykisk helsearbeid ME504 - Universitetet i Agder 2017 Children`s participation in mediation after parent`s brake-up/divorce is a political priori area. Our focus on the importance of preventive work gave us interest in investigating this theme further. The aim was to clarify children`s experiences from participation in mandatory mediation. We focused on how the children`s voices were weighted when the arrangement of care was made, and how the children wanted to be met in mediation. Our research-questions were: «How do children experience their voices being weighted in mandatory mediation after parent`s brake-up/divorce»? and «Which wishes of change in mediation do they tell a…

Penicillium lanoso - viride AMP dezamināzes ietekme uz citokīnu izmaiņām pēc lielu devu I.V. ievadīšanas pelēm

2017

Adenilāta dezamināze (AMPD) ir glikoproteīns, kas ir dabisks sēņu izcelsmes imūnmodulators. To producē mikroskopiska sēnīte Penicillium lanoso - viride.

Can Money buy Love? : The Impact of the Cohesion Policy of the European Union on European Identity

2019

Master's thesis Innovative governance and public management ME523 - University of Agder 2019 This Master thesis explores the relationship between Cohesion policies of the EU and European identity. After first describing the history and context of Cohesion policies of the EU, the literature on European identity studies is reviewed. This discussion develops an economic utilitarian argument, that citizens in Europe develop their identification with the EU partly on rational considerations, and that the added quality of life provided by investments of the EU would positively influence their European identity. This effect is expected to be different throughout European regions. The hypothesesare …

A procedure to evaluate the indoor global quality by a sub objective-objective procedure

2013

This paper proposes two complementary procedures for assessing the indoor global comfort: the first one, prevalently objective, is based on the acquisition of microclimate measured data and computed subjective values; the second one, that is purely subjective, uses a questionnaire drawn from the ISO/DP 10551 Recommendation. An application to some lecture-halls is here showed

Comparing deep‐end confinement in England & Wales and Norway

2022

Extreme forms of custody represent the boundary points of state power. The configuration of the most restrictive corners of prison systems, and what goes on within them, is highly instructive in exposing the objectives, limits, and implications of state coercion at its most severe. Based on data collected in England & Wales and Norway, this article has two main aims. The first is to explore the degree to which “deep-end” confinement differs between jurisdictions with different penal philosophies. The second is to understand how the most extreme form of confinement in each jurisdiction differs from the more typical carceral experiences within each system and its overall penal ethos. Empirica…
