In this work, we have studied the vulnerable window and propagation patterns in a human heart during acute ischemia. A 3-D biventricular model of a human heart with realistic heterogeneity and fiber orientations has been considered. The ischemic region was located in the anterior left ventricular wall mimicking the occlusion of the circumflex artery. The electrical activity of the tissue was modeled with the monodomain model along with a modified version of the ten Tusscher 2006 ionic model. The model predicts the generation of sustained re-entrant activity in the form of a rotor around the ischemic zone. Background The aim of this study was to assess the impact of diet and behavioural risk factors on caries appearance, and on oral health-related quality of life (OHRQoL) among Portuguese adolescents. The exact causes of Idiopathic Environmental Intolerance Attributed to Electromagnetic Fields (IEI-EMF, i.e., experience of somatic symptoms attributed to low-level electromagnetic fields) are still unknown. Psychological causation such as nocebo effects seem plausible. PURPOSE: To evaluate the effects of six weeks of training with two different types of neuromuscular electrostimulation (NMES) currents on muscle performance in competitive athletes. METHODS: This controlled and randomized clinical trial included 20 athletes, equally divided into three groups: medium frequency current group with 500 μs (MF-500) (n=7), low frequency current group of with 500 μs (PC-500) (n=5) and control group (CG) (n=8).
