Papillary cystoadenoma lymphomatosum (Warthin-like) of minor salivary glands

2009

Papillary cystadenoma lymphomatosum is a benign salivary gland tumor most frequently located in the parotid gland (Warthin?s tumor). Its presentation in other major, or in minor, salivary glands is rare. Clinically, it manifests as a slow growing tumor, fluctuant on palpation due to its cystic morphology. The treatment of choice is complete excision with wide tumor-free margins. We present a 73-year-old female patient with an asymptomatic tumor of 8 years evolution in the right posterior area of the hard palate. We performed surgical excision and a biopsy, which was reported as papillary cystadenoma lymphomatosum. During the post-operative examination carried out after 3 weeks, it was obser…

Conoscenza del patrimonio costruito. Sistemi, elementi, interventi

2010

Usual Care and Informed Consent in Clinical Trials of Oxygen Management in Extremely Premature Infants

2016

Objective The adequacy of informed consent in the Surfactant, Positive Pressure, and Pulse Oximetry Randomized Trial (SUPPORT) has been questioned. SUPPORT investigators and publishing editors, heads of government study funding agencies, and many ethicists have argued that informed consent was adequate because the two oxygen saturation target ranges studied fell within a range commonly recommended in guidelines. We sought to determine whether each oxygen target as studied in SUPPORT and four similar randomized controlled trials (RCTs) was consistent with usual care. Design/Participants/Setting PubMed, EMBASE, Web of Science, and Scopus were searched for English articles back to 1990 providi…

Profili penali e aspetti sostanziali in materia di reati di pedofilia. Analisi della legge 3 agosto 1998 n.268

2004

Differentiation between major and minor depression

1992

Though the concept of Major Depression was generated by clinicians using depressed inpatients as models, a polydiagnostic study in 600 psychiatric inpatients with heterogenous psychological disturbances revealed that all six competing operational definitions of Major Depression (including DSM-III-R and ICD-10) were too restrictive to serve as a general concept of depression. Another polydiagnostic study in 500 primary care outpatients showed that more than two-thirds of all non-chronic depressed cases were below the severity threshold of Major Depression: these patients are classified as Depression Not Otherwise Specified (NOS) by DSM-III-R. Loosening of the over-restrictive time criteria w…

Reprobación y sátira del "gramático" en las letras áureas II. Textos literarios, principios del siglo XVII

2018

In this work, the author studies the satires against the grammarian in Spanish literary texts of the first third of the 17th century, according to the idea of grammar developed by Nebrija and other humanists. Following the negative judgement made by many essay writers in the 16th century, Salas Barbadillo and Quevedo will repeat some specific motives of that criticism, such as the arrogance or the interest in minor features of the texts, compared to the allegedly profound knowledge seeked by theologicians and moral philosophers. By so doing, these authors take part in an intellectual atmosphere against philologists, that confirms the exclusion, in the Spanish thought of the Golden Age, of t…

Direct energy transfer from the major antenna to the photosystem II core complexes in the absence of minor antennae in liposomes

2015

AbstractMinor antennae of photosystem (PS) II, located between the PSII core complex and the major antenna (LHCII), are important components for the structural and functional integrity of PSII supercomplexes. In order to study the functional significance of minor antennae in the energetic coupling between LHCII and the PSII core, characteristics of PSII–LHCII proteoliposomes, with or without minor antennae, were investigated. Two types of PSII preparations containing different antenna compositions were isolated from pea: 1) the PSII preparation composed of the PSII core complex, all of the minor antennae, and a small amount of major antennae (MCC); and 2) the purified PSII dimeric core comp…

gjfactor of an electron bound in a hydrogenlike ion

2000

We present a detailed theoretical evaluation for the ${g}_{j}$ factor of a bound electron in hydrogenlike ions up to $Z=94.$ All quantum electrodynamical corrections of order $(\ensuremath{\alpha}/\ensuremath{\pi})$ are evaluated in detail and various other contributions to the ${g}_{j}$ factor are computed and listed for 61 Z. A comparison with all existing experiments is carried out and excellent agreement is found. The present uncertainty in our calculations is discussed. It is not possible to improve this precision with only minor effort since two-photon bound-state QED terms are uncalculated up to now.
