Indexing the Local, State and Global in the Contemporary Linguistic Landscape of a Hungarian town in Slovakia

On the basis of photography and fieldwork, the linguistic landscape (LL) of the central square of Dunajská Streda/ Dunaszerdahely is analyzed. I focus on commercial names, which dominate the LL of the main square. The research site, a town in Slovakia of which population 80 % is Hungarian speaking, is significant, since historical minorities form the majority in very few European towns. The characteristics, functions and meanings of a linguistic landscape are best charted through a combination of methods. Tutkimme tässä artikkelissa liikunnanopettajien puhetapoja seksuaali- ja sukupuolivähemmistöihin kuuluvista oppilaista koululiikunnassa. Aineisto koostuu kymmenen opettajan haastatteluaineistosta sekä 105 opettajan verkkokyselyaineistosta. Analysoimme laadullisella sisällönanalyysilla puhetavoista heteronormatiivisuutta sekä sukupuolen moninaisuutta. Tutkimuksen tarkoituksena on saada tarkempaa tietoa maahanmuuttajien kielellisestä identiteetistä. Keskityn tutkimuksessani maahanmuuttajiin, jotka ovat oppineet valtakunnallisen vähemmistökielen ruotsin, joka on heidän sijoituspaikkakunnallaan enemmistökielen asemassa. Tutkimuksen empiirinen materiaali koostuu teemahaastatteluista. Haastateltavina olleet 5 maahanmuuttajaa (iältään 20 – 54-vuotiaita) osallistuivat henkilökohtaisiin teemahaastatteluihin asuin tai työpaikkakunnallaan. Kaksi haastateltavista on tullut Suomeen pakolaisena 1990-luvulla, 2 perhesyistä ja 1 työnantajan lähettämänä. The emergent field of raciolinguistics highlights the relationships between language and race/racism and has brought about research that investigates their intersections. Bakalaura darbs ‘’Seksuālo minoritāšu un transpersonu segregācija un integrācija mūsdienu Japānā’’ dod ieskatu par to, kādos veidos seksuālās minoritātes un transpersonas tiek atdalītas no pārējās Japānas patriarhālās, konservatīvi noskaņotās, heteronormatīvās un dzimumnormatīvās sabiedrības, tajā pašā laikā parādot, ka, neskatoties uz šo nostāju, seksuālās minoritātes un transpersonas atrod veidus, kā iekļauties jeb integrēties sabiedrībā, kas ir vērsta uz grupas mentalitāti un asimilāciju.
