Mitochondrial genotyping of isolates of the arbuscular mycorrhizal fungus "Glomus intraradices" from the isolate collection of the International Bank…
2011
International audience; The culture collection of the International Bank of Glomeromycota (BEG) provides an important service to scientific community and industry by acting as a repository for well-defined AMF isolates which are made available to the public. The most widely-used species has been referred to as "Glomus intraradices", and was recently renamed Rhizophagus irregularis. This species has emerged as a model organism for experimental research and is the subject of the first AMF genome to be sequenced. The only genetic marker that can currently be used to distinguish strains of R. irregularis in field settings is the mitochondrial large subunit (mtLSU). In addition, genetically dist…
Stilbenes and resveratrol metabolites improve mitochondrial fatty acid oxidation defects in human fibroblasts
2014
International audience; Background: Inborn enzyme defects of mitochondrial fatty acid beta-oxidation (FAO) form a large group of genetic disorders associated to variable clinical presentations ranging from life-threatening pediatric manifestations up to milder late onset phenotypes, including myopathy. Very few candidate drugs have been identified in this group of disorders. Resveratrol (RSV) is a natural polyphenol with anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory effects, recently shown to have beneficial metabolic properties in mice models. Our study explores its possible effects on FAO and mitochondrial energy metabolism in human cells, which are still very little documented. Methods: Using cells …
New molecular aspects of regulation of mitochondrial activity by fenofibrate and fasting
2000
Abstract Fenofibrate and fasting are known to regulate several genes involved in lipid metabolism in a similar way. In this study measuring several mitochondrial enzyme activities, we demonstrate that, in contrast to citrate synthase and complex II, cytochrome c oxidase (COX) is a specific target of these two treatments. In mouse liver organelles, Western blot experiments indicated that mitochondrial levels of p43, a mitochondrial T3 receptor, and mitochondrial peroxisome proliferator activated receptor (mt-PPAR), previously described as a dimeric partner of p43 in the organelle, are increased by both fenofibrate and fasting. In addition, in PPARα-deficient mice, this influence was abolishe…
2017
Based upon the assumption that television has a strong impact in the vision that we have about the pass, along the next pages we analyse the recent history representations present in Spain's tv-fiction and cinematographic productions too. As we establish relationships between both audiovisual productions, we propose to investigate about the construction of Transition's mythos and analyse if there is a television model in the mode of representing the recent history.
Simbologia dell’albero
2017

An Intercellular Flow of Glutathione Regulated by Interleukin 6 Links Astrocytes and the Liver in the Pathophysiology of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis
2021
Oxidative stress has been proposed as a major mechanism of damage to motor neurons associated with the progression of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). Astrocytes are the most numerous glial cells in the central nervous system and, under physiological conditions, protect neurons from oxidative damage. However, it is uncertain how their reactive phenotype may affect motor neurons during ALS progression. In two different ALS mouse models (SOD1G93A and FUS-R521C), we found that increased levels of proinflammatory interleukin 6 facilitate glutathione (GSH) release from the liver to blood circulation, which can reach the astrocytes and be channeled towards motor neurons as a mechanism of anti…
