Detailed subglacial topography and drumlins at the marginal zone of Múlajökull outlet glacier, central Iceland: Evidence from low frequency GPR data

Abstract New ground penetrating radar (GPR) observations on the Mulajokull surge-type outlet glacier, central Iceland, are presented. Overall 10.5 km of GPR profile lines were recorded parallel to the glacier margin in August, 2015. Detailed GPR investigations combined with high-accuracy GPS measurements allowed to build a high-resolution model of the subglacial topography. We provide new evidence of streamlined ridges beneath Mulajokull’s marginal zone interpreted as drumlins and show the location of the upper edge of the drumlin field. Drumlins and related glaciogenic landforms of the Madliena Tilted plain, Central Latvian Lowland

This paper presents new results on the morphometry and spatial distribution of the glaciogenic landforms and ice flow directions in the Madliena Tilted Plain that occupies the eastern part of the Central Latvian Lowland. Landforms were investigated by using topographic maps at scales of 1:25 000 and 1:10 000. There were identified and mapped 1461 glaciogenic landforms such as drumlins, end moraine ridges, eskers, ribbed moraines, marginal ridges, lateral shear margin moraines and recessional formations. Comparison Between Conventional and Vegetated Roof by Means of a Dynamic Simulation

In this paper, a dynamic simulation of a building located in the Campus University of Palermo, Italy, has been carried out. We considered two different scenarios; in the first one, the building as it is, with a conventional covering, while in the second one the roof was equipped with a green roof. The results of the two simulations have been compared, suggesting that such building component could contribute to the energy savings of the building. Šajā darbā kritiski izvērtēta grupu tiesību izpratne Vila Kimlikas filozofijā. Vispārējā cilvēktiesību deklarācija bija nozīmīgs mēģinājums aizsargāt minoritāšu tiesības. Tomēr cilvēktiesības nav spējīgas atbildēt uz virkni jautājumu, kas izriet no kultūrdaudzveidības. Šajā darbā tiek pamatots, ka tradicionālās cilvēktiesības ir nepieciešams papildināt ar grupu tiesībām. Turklāt tiek izvērtētas Kimlikas teorijas praktiskā pielietojuma iespējas Latvijā.

This article examines Nicholas J. Spykman’s scholarship beyond geopolitics and International Relations (IR). Because his works have mainly been studied through these prisms, I argue that we have overlooked the most important underlying current of his work: historical sociology. As a result, the prevailing view of him is overtly narrow. When Spykman’s scholarly output is examined from the 1920s to 1940s, an entirely different view of Spykman emerges. Essentially, his fundamental understanding of world affairs derived from the German sociologist Georg Simmel’s theories. Molteplici fattori correlati all’invecchiamento giocano un ruolo in tal senso; ad esempio, variazioni anatomiche e funzionali, modificazioni della composizione corporea, alterazioni dei meccanismi fisiologici che regolano il metabolismo e l’omeostasi del sodio e dell’acqua.
