Land subsidence (LS) is a significant problem that can cause loss of life, damage property, and disrupt local economies. The Semnan Plain is an important part of Iran, where LS is a major problem for sustainable development and management. The plain represents the changes occurring in 40% of the country. We introduce a novel-ensemble intelligence approach (called ANN-bagging) that uses bagging as a meta- or ensemble-classifier of an artificial neural network (ANN) to predict LS spatially on the Semnan Plain in Semnan Province, Iran. Abstract A glass vessel device with water volume of 20 L was constructed for fast testing of the fate of a chemical in freshwater watercourse environment. The dynamic system consisted of natural water with throughflow, of 4.5 mL min−1 and bottom sediment from a clean oligohumic lake in Central Finland. Duckweed (Lemna sp.) as plant material, lake mussel (Anodonta piscinalis) and crucian carp (Carassius carassius) as test animals were included in the test device. Tetrachloroguaiacol (TeCG) was dissolved at start to water to make 2 μg L−1 concentration. The same concentration of TeCG was maintained in inflow water. Fish farming creates conditions where disease transmission is enhanced and antibiotic treatments are commonly used to cure bacterial diseases to prevent severe losses due to infections. Ability to persist in such an environment has been suggested to lead to the evolution of high virulence. Columnaris disease caused by Flavobacterium columnare is a growing problem in freshwater fish farming. Transmission of the disease is poorly known, and survival of F. columnare in the rearing environment has not been studied. BackgroundLymnaeid snails transmit medical and veterinary important trematodiases, mainly fascioliasis. Vector specificity of fasciolid parasites defines disease distribution and characteristics. Different lymnaeid species appear linked to different transmission and epidemiological patterns. Pronounced susceptibility differences to absolute resistance have been described among lymnaeid populations. El presente artículo trata de dar a conocer la actividad de los alumnos de la Escuela de Bellas Artes de Valencia que realizaron su formación en dicha institución entre los años 1895 y 1932. Durante ese periodo se formaron en San Carlos varias generaciones de artistas valencianos que recibieron las enseñanzas académicas apropiadas para adquirir las más altas capacidades técnicas y artísticas. Estos artistas continuaron con la tradición pictórica de la centenaria escueta artística valenciana. (A)
Academic performance and students' teaching assessment in pilot experiments of European Higher Education

In this work we show a study based on an analysis of academic marks as well as on a teaching valuation of a students sample participating in a pilot experience for the European Credit System Implantation in the Music Teachers Instruction Course. We also detail the way of evaluating the students and the resources used to valuate the teaching. We analyse the differences between the student’s marks and their opinion about the teaching in two students groups, one of them using a traditional teaching system and the other one using such experience for the European Credit implantation.
