We discuss the use of analogical models in science education using examples from online learning resources. We have conducted a teaching program for a group of 7th grade pupils and a group of science teacher students, and the main theme of this program is the use of models in chemistry. Specifically, we study the effect of an analogical model that is designed to promote understanding of the properties of molecules, related to a paper chromatography experiment. Collating, organizing and selecting quantitative experimental data are time-consuming tasks necessary for building and constraining biophysically realistic neuronal models. The CoCoDat (Collation of Cortical Data) database has been designed as an advanced environment for storing, organizing and retrieving detailed, uninterpreted quantitative data on morphology, electrophysiology and connectivity from the published literature according to neurophysiological concepts. Denne forprosjektrapporten er utarbeidet på oppdrag av Byggherren i fokus v/NBBL, og diskuterer den faglige basisen for å starte opp hovedprosjekter forankret i økonomisk teori innen forretningsbasert prosjektutvikling i byggebransjen. Det skisseres tre mulige omtråder for videre analyse i et hovedprosjekt: Priser og prismodeller for fast eiendom, usikkerhet og realopsjonsanalyse samt markeds- og reguleringssvikt. I forbindelse med hvert av temaene gjennomgås relevant økonomisk teori som basis for videre anlyse i et evenuelt hovedprosjekt.

Marine spatial planning that addresses ocean climate-driven change (‘climate-smart MSP’) is a global aspiration to support economic growth, food security and ecosystem sustainability. Ocean climate change (‘CC’) modelling may become a key decision-support tool for MSP, but traditional modelling analysis and communication challenges prevent their broad uptake. We employed MSP-specific ocean climate modelling analyses to inform a real-life MSP process; addressing how nature conservation and fisheries could be adapted to CC. This thesis presents PARDISIM, a simulation model that takes an institutionaleconomic approach in the simulation of the residential development process.Rather then modelling the residential development as the result of locationchoices at household level, PARDISIM focusses on the objectives and interac-tions of development actors. The idea behind this approach is that developmentactors, including public planning authorities, play an important role in the pro-cess of residential development. The model is top-down whereas the most recentefforts by other scholars focus instead on a bottom-up approach. Initial testingshows that PARDISIM is capable of producing realistic spatial patterns.
