A New Digital Demodulator for Sensorless Control of Electrical Drives with Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors

This paper deals a new digital demodulator algorithm for sensorless control of interior permanent magnet synchronous motors (IPMS) based on the estimation of speed and rotor angular position. To this aim a signal similar to that generated by a resolver connected to the shaft of the motor is obtained injecting high frequency stator currents. A new digital algorithm has been designed and set up to demodulate the above signal whose implementation can be carried out on the same DSP that processes the whole control algorithm. Multiphase interleaved buck converters are widely used for point of load applications, especially for VRMs. Performance optimization issue often clashes with size and cost requirements thus leading the industrial and academic research to focus on advanced solutions. This paper presents a control technique for multiphase VRMs including two interacting sections: the linear loop implements a PWM peak current mode control and the nonlinear subsystem modifies few linear loop parameters under load transients only. New Solution for Telescopic Robotic Arm

This paper deals with a Robotic arm actuated by a monomobil telescopic planetary gear and servo DC motor. Experimental model of robot was designed and manufactured at the Faculty of Engineering from Sibiu, (Patent no. 112418 CI6.B25J 18/02). The Servo DC as actuator drives a reel. Wires on the reel will produce displacement of telescopic modules from robotic arm structure. The reference as a voltage for future arm displacement is provided by a PWM generator. The rotation of the reel in one way or another has the effect of lengthening or shortening robotic arm. Robotic arm length is directly related to the PWM signal. Control of robotic arm positioning is done with a linear transducer.

Control of an open-end winding induction machine via a two-output indirect matrix converter

In this paper an Indirect Matrix Converter (IMC) with two output stages feeding an open-end winding induction machine is presented. The IMC has the advantage of having nobulky energy storage elements and with the two output stages up to 1.5 times the input phase voltage can be obtained across the windings of the machine, without overmodulation. A vector control scheme for the machine currents is used along with a modulation strategy for the converter two-output stages to reduce the common mode voltage and compensate the phase zero sequence currents. In this paper a new low cost device is proposed for fault location in power distribution system. The device is part of a system that should include several units installed in couples at the two ends of MV cable lines. This paper presents the implementation and experimental results of an algebraic real-time sinusoidal pulse width modulation algorithm (SPWM) based on B-Spline carriers. B-spline functions are used as carrier signals with the aim to to reduce harmonic content of the three phase inverter output voltage. The presented algorithm eliminates the problem of B-spline recursive evaluation with convolution integrals or convolution sums in digital counterpart.
