Folktale, Morphology

2020

Vladimir Yakovlevich Propp was born in St. Petersburg on April 17, 1895 and died in Leningrad on August 22, 1970. Despite remaining in the same city, the events of history caused those places, over the course of (his) time, to take on a whole new meaning and a very different flavor. Of course, to a folklorist like Propp, used to reflecting on the distance of millennia, those seventy-five years will have been nothing. Though the fact remains that the monumental epochal shifts he witnessed (the Russian Revolution and the long cultural and political Soviet regime that followed) feature heavily in his brilliant work.

Lipid multilayered particles: the role of chitosan on structure and morphology

2010

Multilayered nanovectors made up from a controlled binary lipid mixture (POPC and DMPS) and trimethyl chitosan (TMC) have been prepared and characterized by light- and small angle neutron scattering. The morphology and the multilayer structure of the particle outer shell has been described in detail. By varying the amount of TMC in the starting solution it is possible to tune the overall surface particle charge as well as its multilamellarity. In this way the drug loading/release properties of the particles can be controlled. Therefore the use of controlled POPC/DMPS mixtures can be a valid alternative to commercial lecithin to obtain nanovectors with specific release properties.

Taxonomic Revision of the Genus Trictenotoma Gray, 1832 (Coleoptera: Trictenotomidae). Part 2 – Species from Hainan and Taiwan

2020

Trictenotoma davidi Deyrolle, 1875 and T. formosanaKriesche, 1919 are the only insular Palaearctic Trictenotomidae. Both species are related and T. formosana was originally defined on the basis of unstable morphological features and originally described as a subspecies of T. davidi. In this paper, a detailed redescription of T. formosana is provided, male and female genital organs are described and illustrated for the first time and the lectotype is designated. Hainan (China) records of T. davidi are presented and morphological variability of this taxon is discussed. The first observation of Trictenotomidae mating behaviour is briefly described.

First description of immature stages of Gastropini, Gastrops willistoni Cresson (Diptera: Ephydridae) preying on eggs in a foam nest of Leptodactylus…

2020

The third instar larva and puparium of Gastrops willistoni Cresson (Diptera: Ephydridae), preying on eggs in a foam nest of Leptodactylus knudseni Heyer (Anura: Leptodactylidae), in a central Amazonian dryland forest (Brazil) are described for the first time. The fusiform larva has a short breathing tube, its anterior spiracles are fan-shaped and posterior spiracles with three spircular openings. Pupa is ovoid with a broad anterior margin and bifurcate posterior tip. The taxonomic relationship of the frog egg predators, Gastrops Williston and Typopsilopa Cresson, are discussed.

Nestriktās matemātikas morfoloģijas operatori: teorijas pamati un operatoru realizācija konkrētiem konjuktoru-implikatoru pāriem

2021

Konkrētie konjunktoru-implikatoru pāriem iegūtie operatori ilustrēti ar vizuāliem piemēriem, to realizācijai izstrādāta arī lietojumprogramma. Veikta iegūto rezultātu analīze.

Geomorphological, chemical and physical study of “calanchi” landforms in NW Sicily (southern Italy)

2012

Abstract This work deals with an integrated geomorphological and chemical–physical study of “calanchi” landforms in two sites (Ottosalme and Catalfimo) of NW Sicily (southern Italy), developed on dominant silty-clay deposits. The calanchi fronts are characterized by different morphological features and dominant geomorphic processes. Sharp knife-edged ridges and concentrated water runoff dominate at Ottosalme, and smoother landforms affected by mass movements (mud flows and translational slides) prevail at Catalfimo. We focused on some geochemical and physical parameters such as pH , total dissolved salts, sodium adsorption ratio ( SAR ), porosity, plastic and liquid limits as possible cause…
