Derrière l’automatisation de nouvelles précarités au travail?» This article is a summarized version of the report "Le Micro-travail en France. Derrière l’automatisation de nouvelles précarités au travail?" .; International audience; Micro-work internet services allocate small, standardized tasks of data generation and annotation to crowds of providers. The implications of teachers’ implicit theories for moral education: A case study from Finland
2017
Implicit theories concerning the malleability of human qualities are known to have a powerful impact on motivation and learning, but their role in moral education is an under-researched topic. Predictors of performance in engineering mathematics
2018
International audience; Mathematics in university courses was identified as a main obstacle for engineering students in the beginning of their study. Since difficulties with mathematics could lead to a dropout, our research aims to analyse students' profiles referring to individual characteristics that allow identifying possible risks for students' achievement or success in the first year of study. As a first step to identify possibly risky profiles, we started to find possible predictors of students' performance. For this, we give a short overview of the research state and our derived research interest. We discuss theoretical constructs that are possibly crucial characteristics of students…
Exploring determinants of different information security behaviors
2016
Aim: The aim was to introduce new explanatory construct, namely illegitimate tasks from Stress-as-Offense-to-Self Theory (SOS), to better understand information security behavior (ISB). In addition, more commonly used constructs from Deterrence theory (DT) and Protection Motivation Theory (PMT) were used to explain ISB. This study also investigated several behaviors separately to evaluate the generalizability of the behavioral determinants. Methods: Four ISBs, namely general ISP compliance (ISP), not copying sensitive information to the unsecured USB drive (USB), locking or logging out from the computer (LOG), and not writing down passwords (PSW). Formal and informal sanctions from DT, thre…

2013
PurposeThe purpose of this paper is to explore the use of the prototype of a mobile application for the enhancement of children's motivation for writing. The results are explored from students' and experts' perspectives.Design/methodology/approachThis study is based on a field trial and expert evaluations of a prototype of a mobile application. The field trial data consists of questionnaire data collected from elementary school students (n=25) who used the mobile prototype. The expert evaluations (n=8) of the prototype were conducted based on usability and pedagogical heuristics. The main research question is how the mobile application motivates children to learn creative writing.FindingsTh…
