Unlocking behaviors of long-term service consumers : the role of action inertia

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to examine the antecedents of word-of-mouth (WOM) in long-term service settings. Specifically, the authors examine the moderating role of action inertia in the relationships between satisfaction and repatronage intention, satisfaction and WOM, and repatronage intention and WOM. Background To investigate the prevalence of malignant and potentially malignant lesions of the lip in an oral pathology service and to compare these data with a literature review. Material and methods A total of 3173 biopsy reports and histopathological records were analyzed. Cases with a histological diagnosis of actinic cheilitis (AC) with or without epithelial dysplasia, in situ carcinoma, or lip squamous cell carcinoma (LSCC) were included. A comprehensive literature review was conducted to investigate the prevalence of AC and/or LSCC. Material and Methods: Eighteen adult male Wistar rats were used for the research, 20 µl of carrageenan (4%) was infiltrated in the extra articular region, in front of the condyle to induce fibrosis. Spindle cell lipoma of the floor of the mouth. A case report.

A sessile swelling in the floor of the mouth appeared three years ago in a 29-year old Caucasian female located laterally to the opening of the right duct of Wharton. The mass covered by normal looking mucosa exhibited slight growth since then. After excision, histological examination revealed the presence of a tumor formed by areas of mature adipose cells interspersed with extensions of tightly disposed fusiform fibroblasts immunoreactive for vimentin and CD-34. The oral cavity is an entry path into the body, enabling the intake of nutrients but also leading to the ingestion of harmful substances. Thus, saliva and oral tissues contain enzyme systems that enable the early neutralization of xenobiotics as soon as they enter the body. Based on recently published oral proteomic data from several research groups, this review identifies and compiles the primary detoxification enzymes (also known as xenobiotic-metabolizing enzymes) present in saliva and the oral epithelium. Lack of association between proliferative verrucous leukoplakia and human papillomavirus infection.

Purpose To analyze proliferative verrucous leukoplakia (PVL) for the presence of human papillomavirus (HPV) in different stages of the disease. Materials and Methods We studied 13 patients with PVL. In 10 patients (76.9%), a lesional biopsy was taken and frozen at −40°C. Four patients were instructed to mouth rinse with sterile sera. The biopsy and rinse samples were analyzed for HPV by PCR. Results We did not detect HPV infection in the PVL tissue or in the oral rinse of any of the 13 patients in any stage of the disease analyzed, neither in oral squamous cell carcinoma nor in the simple hyperkeratosis. Conclusion There was no association between PVL and HPV infection in our patients.
