This paper explores the transformative teaching and learning experiences that arose throughout the duration of the progam for the lecturers and students. Data were collected through interviews and focus groups with lecturers and students involved in the program. This paper presents a mathematical analysis of a medium scale Photovoltaic (PV) power generation system connected to the distribution network and of its control system, in which the conversion stage is unique thanks to the absence of a boost chopper. Boost choppers are usually used as actuator for maximum power point tracking (MPPT). The conducted analysis leads to the conclusion that the used inverter presents two degrees of freedom that can be easily exploited in a control system in which the inverter simultaneously realizes the interconnection to the grid and at the same time realizes the MPPT control. Lessons learned from a community engagement initiative within Irish higher education

This paper focuses on a community–university partnership built around a programme of study co-created by residents of a disadvantaged community and situated, for the most part, within that community. The aim of this paper is to share lessons learned from this community engagement initiative, as identified through a research study which ran concurrent to the programme. The study involved 41 interviews (18 individual interviews and 23 focus groups) over a two-year period with 28 participants. Continuous play : leisure engagement in competitive fighting games and taekwondo

In order to better understand the development of play and games in modern lives, this article examines two competitive leisure groups: digital fighting game players and traditional taekwondo practitioners. Drawing on qualitative offline/online interviews (n = 56) and close reading of externally documented life narratives (n = 14), we explore how the modes and motives of engagement fluctuate in competitive players over time. The study provides a new developmental approach to continuous competitive play as leisure. Tutkimuksen tavoitteena oli tarkastella Tiedoituslaitoksen hyväksymiäTK-miesten kirjoituksia asemasotavuonna 1943. Tutki-mukseen otin mukaan 100 kirjoitusta, jotka jakaantuivat seuraavasti: sotatapahtumat 30 kpl urheilu 29 kpl viihde/juhlat 18 kpl muut 23 kpl Tarkoitus oli selvittää se, mistä TK-miehet saivat kirjoittaa. Suomalaisessa varhaiskasvatusjärjestelmässä lasten vanhempien sekä varhaiskasvatuksen työntekijöiden välinen yhteistyö on keskeisellä sijalla. Koko yhteiskunnan muuttuessa yhä enemmän 24/7 taloudeksi aiheuttaa se perheiden lastenhoitojärjestelyille ja sitä kaut-ta varhaiskasvatusjärjestelmän kehittämiselle paineita. Artikkeli on tapausselostus vuonna 2015 30-vuotisjuhlavuottaan viettävän kuopiolaisen kansalaisjärjestön, Sirkkulanpuiston toimintayhdistys ry:n erilaisista rooleista kansalaistoimijana ja sosiaalipalvelujen tuottajana. Tämä raittius- ja kansanterveysjärjestö ja sen toiminta ovat kehittyneet paljon näiden 30 toimintavuoden aikana, eivätkä muutosprosessit ole aina olleet kivuttomia. Ympäröivältä yhteiskunnalta tulevat vaatimukset aiheuttavat palvelujärjestelmälle ristiriitaisia pulmia.
