Background and purpose: Fatigue is a common symptom in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). Although sleep disturbances are a candidate factor that may interfere with fatigue in patients with ALS, the role of sleep-related abnormalities in determining fatigue in ALS is unknown. Objective: To evaluate the frequency and determinants of fatigue in a group of 91 consecutive patients with ALS, with special attention to the relationship between fatigue and sleep problems. C1q, the recognition molecule of the classical pathway of the complement system, plays a central role in pregnancy. Lack of C1q is characterized by poor trophoblast invasion and pregnancy failure. C1q can be the target of an antibody response: anti‐C1q autoantibodies (anti-C1q) are present in several infectious and autoimmune diseases. The presence of these autoantibodies has been detected also in 2-8% of the general population. In the Western Countries, colon cancer is the third tumor for aggressiveness and incidence after lung and breast/prostate cancer. Different risk factors concur to the development of colon cancer, including genetic factors, inflammation, intestinal microflora composition, as well as lifestyle. Epidemiologic studies correlating alcohol consumption and assert that the risks are 5-fold higher among drinkers compared to nondrinkers. XENON is a direct detection dark matter project, consisting of a time projection chamber (TPC) that uses xenon in double phase as a sensitive detection medium. XENON100, located at the Laboratori Nazionali del Gran Sasso (LNGS) in Italy, is one of the most sensitive experiments of its field. During the operation of XENON100, the design and construction of the next generation detector (of ton-scale mass) of the XENON project, XENON1T, is taking place. Summary Little is known about endophytic microbes in cold climate plants and how their communities are formed. We compared culturable putative endophytic bacteria and fungi in the ecologically important circumpolar grass, Deschampsia flexuosa growing in two successional stages of subarctic sand dune (68°29′N). Sequence analyses of partial 16S rRNA and internal transcribed spacer (ITS) sequences of culturable endophytes showed that diverse bacteria and fungi inhabit different tissues of D. flexuosa. Le diagnostic archéologique réalisé en amont de l'extension de la plateforme Delta 3 a permis de compléter et d'approfondir les connaissances concernant le territoire de Dourges. Les vestiges mis au jour couvrent plusieurs millénaires et concernent les périodes protohistoriques (âge du Bronze et Hallstatt) et historiques (de l'Antiquité jusqu'à l'époque moderne). Pour les périodes protohistoriques, il s'agit d'éléments épars qui ne semblent pas constituer à proprement parler un site. Cependant, des signes ténus d'occupation sont avérés dans ce secteur dés l'âge du Bronze ainsi que durant le premier âge du Fer. L’opération de diagnostic archéologique a livré la présence de plusieurs occupations anciennes. La présence la plus ancienne est matérialisée par une fosse peu profonde de la Tène D2. Plusieurs fossés d’enclos d’orientation nord-sud ou est-ouest ont été repérés à divers endroits de la parcelle, ainsi que quelques structures domestiques. Ils sont datés du début de la période gallo-romaine. Du mobilier archéologique du Bas-Empire a également été récolté dans le comblement de structures plus récentes, ce qui laisse présager de la présence de structures de cette période.Un niveau de débordement de la rivière du Becquerel a scellé ces niveaux antiques.
