ESA's FLEX/Sentinel-3 tandem mission aims at mapping Sun-induced fluorescence (SIF) as a proxy to quantify photosynthetic activity of terrestrial vegetation. Due to the complexity of the mission concept and stringent requirements for the data processing algorithms, ESA developed a Phase A/B1 End-to-End Mission Performance Simulator (E2ES) tool to reproduce the expected mission performance and check the mission and instrument concepts. In the current Phase C/D, the E2ES concept must evolve to consolidate the whole data processing chain, providing an accurate figures of the whole mission error budget and serving as a roadmap for the future development of FLEX Ground Segment. Self-assembled cationic micelles are an attractive platform for binding biologically-relevant polyanions such as heparin. This has potential applications in coagulation control, where a synthetic heparin rescue agent could be a useful replacement for protamine, which is in current clinical use. However, micelles can have low stability in human serum and unacceptable toxicity profiles. UJI RobInLab's approach to the Amazon Robotics Challenge 2017

This paper describes the approach taken by the team from the Robotic Intelligence Laboratory at Jaume I University to the Amazon Robotics Challenge 2017. The goal of the challenge is to automate pick and place operations in unstructured environments, specifically the shelves in an Amazon warehouse. RobInLab's approach is based on a Baxter Research robot and a customized storage system. The system's modular architecture, based on ROS, allows communication between two computers, two Arduinos and the Baxter. The application of the random balance method in laser machining of metals

International audience; Features peculiar to laser technology offer some advantages over more traditional processes, but, like all processes, it has its limitations. This article studies the limitations of laser machining of metals, and quantifies, through an experimental design method, the influence of operating parameters on productivity and on the quality of the machined surface. Three study materials were used: an aluminium alloy, stainless steel and a titanium alloy. Abstract A complex Al/Cu magnetic pulse welding interface is systematically investigated using experimental characterizations and numerical simulations. A Coupled electromagnetic-mechanical simulation is proposed to compute the impact velocity and impact angle along the entire interface. This model allows to further understand the formation mechanism of various interface characteristics during MPW. The results revealed that the impact velocity gradually decreases in conjunction with the gradual increase of the impact angle. BACKGROUND The aim of this in vitrostudy was to examine and compare the effect of photodynamic therapy and solution containing nano particles Ag/ZnO on adhesion of endodontic sealers to dentinal walls of human root canal. MATERIAL AND METHODS Ninty single-rooted human teeth were selected and their clinical crown was cut from the cemento-enamel junction zone.
