Vibration signature analysis for rotor broken bar diagnosis in double cage induction motor drives

The paper investigates the diagnosis of rotor broken bars in field oriented controlled (FOC) double cage induction motor drives, using current and vibration signature analysis techniques. The Impact of the closed loop control system cannot be neglected when the detection of asymmetries in the machine are based on the signature analysis of electrical variables. The proposed diagnosis approach is based on optimized use of wavelet analysis by a pre-processing of phase current or axial/radial vibration signals. Drosophila-inspired visual orientation model on the Eye-Ris platform: Experiments on a roving robot

Behavioral experiments on fruit flies had shown that they are attracted by near objects and they prefer front-to-back motion. In this paper a visual orientation model is implemented on the Eye-Ris vision system and tested using a roving platform. Robotic experiments are used to collect statistical data regarding the system behaviour: followed trajectories, dwelling time, distribution of gaze direction and others strictly resembling the biological experimental setup on the flies. Covariance between components of biaxial stress state in fatigue life calculations

In this paper influence of correlalions between components of random stress tensor on the calculated fatigue life of the machine element has been analysed. Two groups of covariance matrices for components of biaxial stress state were considered. The first group was arbitrarily assumed and the second one was determined on the basis of the measured strains in the element of the vibrating screen for aggregate. Computer simulation was realized with four criteria of multiaxial random fatigue. Cycles were counted with the method of rain flow and damages were cumulated according to Palmgren-Miner hypothesis. The use of sea waves for generation of electrical energy and Hydrogen

Recently linear synchronous generator for the exploitation of sea wave energy has been proposed. That solution does not require reactive power to magnetize but needs permanent magnets to assure the excitation. The electrical energy generated by such a device must be converted and conditioned in order to match the instantaneous utility requirements and a power link from the sea to an interconnection is needed. Extended friction model of a hydraulic actuated system

The main contribution of this paper is an experimental validation and comparison of three different friction models for an electro-hydraulic servo system. The first is the well-kn own LuGre model which incorporates dynamic friction effects. The second model is based on a relatively recent publication by Yanada in 2008 [6], which incorporates liquid film thickness in the servo valve. The third model is a new contribution presented in this paper, where valve underlap and mass acceleration are combined with the LuGre model.
